I cannot believe no one posted it before, apparently it was up for some time.
Anyways, I'm not sure I'm happy with the way the film looks. Claire Danes seems to be a poor choice for Yvaine, and she looks nowhere near upset enough in the meeting scene (in the book, she threw dirt at him). Also, there's far too much swashbuckling in it. Tristran knows as much about swordfighting as any other 17-year-old from a village in the middle of nowhere during the Victorian era, that is, nothing at all. How in the world he's defeated anyone is beyond me. Speaking of which, they've turned Captain Alberic into a pirate, which, I suppose, is fine (although they seem to have dropped the Castle thing entirely, which I'm not sure I'm happy about). IMDB also tells me they renamed him into captain Shakespeare, for some damned reason. And I'm certain they dropped the ending of the witch storyline.
In other words, they've turned Stardust into Pirates of the Carribean. Bleh. The whole friggen point of Stardust was that it told the story without a single heroic swordfight (there is one fight in the book, and ends up with all but the winner being dead or fleeing in maybe a minute, like a real fight would.
Have a very nice day.
