Does anyone know anything of the movie that's coming out? Is anyone looking forward to it?

Know anything about it: aside that it's (obviously) based upon the books and is being made by the LOTR company (Weta Workshop)? Not that much.

Excited about it? Meh. Noncommittal would be the best word, I think. Right now, I still prefer the old BBC series. The previews I've seen strike me as being too LotR-ish.... there *is* potential for it to turn out well (in which case I'll be happy about it), but I'm not gonna weep if it turns out to be a loser.

Personally...

I thought that the Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe wasn't really the best of the series, and they aren't doing the books in order, stupid gits.

It looks good, then again, I'm a sucker for trailers.

Actually, the first one was "The Magician's Nephew" set about 40-50 years pre-Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe.

Or at least, when I got the books it was.

That's chronological order by the books. However, The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe was written first. What order they're numbered in depends on the set; I've seen it done both ways.

Ah...

Well, it's mainly number 5/6 I'm interested in, The Dawn Treader, god that was a good book... and funny too.

I'm kind of looking forward to the film, because I loved all the Narnia books so much. But then I'm also used to being horribly disappointed by film adaptions of books I like and have a horrible feeling that this will just be yet another orgy of over-blown special effects with no real substance.
