What is the coolest sci-fi line?

There are some lines that are heard in many sci fi shows, movies, and books, and have become a staple of the genre. I have an obvious bias towards Star Trek lines in my selection, but any lines from anything will do.

Which of these lines are the coolest?

I am caught between

"Main power has been restored!", complete with the cool lights and sounds of the power coming back online.

And "Shields up!", especially as we see it in Star Trek 2 and 6, with cool computer screen effects and a nice sound effect.

Honourable mention goes to "Warp 9, heading.... blah blah blah mark... blah blah blah, engage!" (As seen in Best of Both Worlds part 1)

And "Get us out of here!" is pretty awesome to just yell. Such exciting urgency.

Please be more creative than I.

I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhauser gate. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain. Time to die.

Bladerunner: The Director's Cut is the only version of Bladerunner.

Seriously, that voiceover would have ruined that whole scene for me. Thankfully, I can't recall ever seeing the theatrical version and it's always been the Director's Cut for me.

There are many lines in sci-fi which are cool, but don't come to mind immediately. Incidentally, topic moved.

Technically Highlander is fantasy, not SciFi

It looks like I am working for a picker of nits. I DO apologise for him, Mistress Tevar and Master Sama.
While I, too, am mostly drawing blanks here one that DOES come to mind is the line that was never actually spoken:
'Scotty, beam me up.'

Isn't it 'beam me up scotty' ? Highlander is a mix of both as it is defint by popular culture. Though alot of scifi would not be science fiction by the strict definiton of it.

And frankly Highlander is generally considered straight Fantasy. I fail to see any SciFi elements in it whatsoever (remember:There's only one Highlander movie

)

Oh, you're missing out! :) If you ever get the chance, watch it. If you still have a VHS player (I say 'if' because I for example haven't had a VHS for ages) then maybe your local video store has it for rent. If not, I hear that it is coming to DVD in the near future.

It adds a lot of stuff to the film, and excises other things the most notable of which are the narrations by Deckard and the ending, which is wildly different in the Director's Cut.

I thought it was out already? the directors cut. on dvd? or was it the extended edition. I forget. I checked. It's out and pretty cheap too. like 10 bucks.

the special edition which is not out on any media will be out this year.

Partly as the result of those complaints, Scott was invited back in mid-2000 to help put together a final and definitive version of the film, which was completed in mid-2001. During the process, a new digital print of the film was created from the original negatives, special effects were updated and cleaned, and the sound was remastered in 5.1 Dolby Digital surround sound. Unlike the rushed 1992 Director's Cut, Scott personally oversaw the new cut as it was being made. The Special Edition DVD was slated for a Christmas time 2001 release, and was originally rumored to be a three-disc set including the full international theatrical cut, the 1992 director's cut and the newly enhanced version in addition to deleted scenes, extensive cast and crew interviews, and the documentary "On the Edge of Blade Runner". But Warner Bros indefinitely delayed the "Special Edition" release after legal disputes began with the film's original completion bond guarantors (specifically Jerry Perenchio), who were ceded ownership of the film when the shooting ran over budget from $21.5 to $28 million.

After several years of waiting through fears that the legal disputes would never end, fans have been rewarded with a tenative announcement by Warner Brothers. According to Total Film magazine and The Digital Bits, Warner Bros. is putting the final touches on several versions of the film that will be made available starting in late 2006. Sources disagree somewhat on how the releases will be scheduled, but the most current information indicates that a restored version of the 1992 Director's Cut will be released first in its own two-disc set, and that it will be available only between September and December of 2006. Following the release of the 2-disc 1992 DC, The Digital Bits is reporting that Warner Brothers will release Ridley Scott's new Director's Cut of the film into theatres sometime in early 2007 to be followed by a multi-disc set containing both previously mentioned versions of the film plus both the American and European theatrical versions.

I never said it had to. This thread, however, is about cool SciFi lines, not cool lines period. Which means Highlander is technically inapplicable (you'll notice that my original comment on this wasn't all that serious and I replied to Ali Sama mainly because I fail to see any SF elements in Highlander).
