Posted: Thu Nov 11, 2010 5:10 pm
On the 11th hour of the 11 day of the 11th month of the year of our lord 1918 the guns on the western front of World War I fell silent.
In 1919 Armistice Day was declared by President Wilson, this would be continued by Congressal resolution in 1926.
In 1953 a campaign was started to expand Armistice Day into a day for all veterans. In 1954 it was signed into law.
Today on the 11th of November we remember and give thanks.
We will continue to remember, until there is no enemy, but peace.
Amen.
