Okey, I suppose we do need a chat, AIM or IRC based?

AIM means unmoderated, IRC means someone needs to get us a listing.

Added a none option.

Added a none option for you.

As for my thoughts: I sometimes drop into the SDN chat, but it isn't something I use alot. I don't see the problem with having one however. If you don't want it, simply ignore it.

And I also say go AIM. It really is much easier. Especially since I know almost nothing about IRC.

How could a chat possibly differ from the worthless SDNet chat already in existance?

So why are you in it? Or did you just pop in to add something useless?

Captain Sunshine here has a point. Obviously if you want to chat with other people then by all means, do so. But I don't see why there must be an 'official chat' thing here.

Meh. I don't think I've ever used the chat facility of any board I've ever been a member of.

AIM, if anything. Personally, unless we get a large percentage in it, it'll be pretty dead.

Hell, if ya'll really want a onsite chat, we could probably get the coding boys working on a chatroom to incorporate into the site....

not sure if they want to do it, but it wouldn't be a one minute task. It would be a longterm thing, and only if we get people who say they woulduse it.

Sorry for the necro, but I noticed a 'Join Chat' linky at the bottom of the forum... it shows 'javascript(void)' or some such, and when clicked, nothing comes up except a blank window. I presume it's still being worked on or what?

It's nothing of ours, it's a Freeayyb doohickey. We make no claims as to its functionality.

Well, mostly we all just communicate via AIM and chat when the whim strikes and sufficient numbers of people are online.
