A good ol' Turkey Day to our American denizens, one and all... and happy holidays to those who don't celebrate this particular holiday...

I'm going home for the week (break from school) but I just figured to start a thread, share some family traditions, that kind of thing... :)

Us, we'ns gonna get STUFFED! :D

One of the few reasons why I'm glad I moved to the States. Turkey isn't something we ate much of in Ireland.

So, what are the odds that I'll be burned as a heretic if I say I hate turkey?

Well I've done it folks...

I cooked my thanksgiving dinner, cooked and cleaned for two damned days in fact. A runday of what I had:
  • Turkey with a caramel glaze
    Stuffing
Dressing(regular breaded dressing and cornbread dressing)
    Mashed potatoes (seasoned and unseasoned)
Gravy(using cornstarch as a base for one and flour as the base for the other)
    Cranberry Sauce
    Corn
    Green beans
    Buttered peas
    Cheese cake(I make 4! FOUR!!!)
Homemade raspberry sauce and a homemade chocolate sauce for the cheese cakes(the raspberry sauce is, in a word, divine. And no Caz, that doesn't make me metro damnit!)
    Brownies
    Pumpkin Pie
Apple pie(the latice work I did on the top is rather superb I must say ^_^)
    Raspberry torte
I think that's about it...

Bow and fear my cooking skills!

No Scottie, the raspberry sauce does not make you Metro

The fact that you ARE Metro makes you Metro.

Happy Belated Thanksgiving all, run down of my day.

Get off work at 0530, go grab some pancakes in the galley, go grab a shower after eating said pancakes, goto sleep. Wake up at 1600, (I slept in seeing it was a holiday) find a fucking feast in the galley! Cornish Game Hens, Turkey, Glazed ham with pineapples, deviled eggs, candied yams, green peas, chicken cornbread dressing and oystercornbread dressing, green beans, hot rolls, boiled shrimp (go bad I don't eat seafood), salad, ugh..there was more, but I can't remember it now. Eat, then veg out in TV room till time to goto work at 1730....

God Damn that was good eats...better than I'd have had at home I'd wager!

That is a rediculus amount of food. I only make Two cheesecakes and about die. I've never tried a rasberry sauce, I make cherry and strawberry or manderin (Sp?). My Turkey almost didn't get done this year. I had to up the cooking temp in the last two hours and hope fpr the best.. -_- All turned out well tho. You seem like quite the cook... *Bows gracefully*
