Depends on the meaning of 'name change'...

I'd never be called anything other than Daniel-James MacFarlane in day-to-day life... but on a webforum... that's rather obvious in its result

While I see why people would change their name on a web forum I must admit it confuses the living daylights out of me, especially when the people who do it have used the old username for a long time.

Which is exactly the reason I've changed mine. But I keep a notice in my sig for it.

I would change my real name to something awesome, like Gaius Decimus Octavianus or something.

I've been B4UTRUST for *thinks* well over a decade now. Haven't changed and don't intend too. Though some days I honestly consider dropping the ie in my name and just leaving it as Scott to end the constant stupid jokes

When i started into the wonderful world of BBS's i was always Darth Pounder or some variation. But on SDnet every fucker and their dog is darth-something so i figured that a change of Darth to Lord would be more distinctive and sounded less fanboyish.

Anywhere i go undercover i used the name Peachyman.

I thought up Mayabird back in eighth grade and I've seen no reason to stop using it online.

As for my real name, I happen to like it, and I don't even plan to change it if/when I get married. (Before you ask about the kids' names, I have that planned out already too, but that'd be a hijack if I explained it.)

I've stuck with my initials for most of my online stuff. Its short and I happen to like Jeeps so the slight corruption works nicely.

I use a number of handles on small boards and as random account names but my main one is "The Silence and I" which is a slight corruption of a song lyric (drop the word 'The' at the front and it becomes accurate). So far I see no reason to change it, other than perhaps a tendency to do a double take every time someone types 'silence' in some part of a post.

As for my real name, it serves just fine. I would not know what to replace it with anyway...

I once considered changing my name to "Soban" (to match my Omniverse Zero name, and dump the silly Stargate connection), but never went through with it. I'm comfortable with being associated with an insane (and dead) Goa'uld, especially in STGOD's

As for my real name, I'm just fine with it, as long as no one tries and call me "Jonaleth". Then the shit hits the fan.

I've used two names online for a good long time

Dark Silver and Dark Steel (occassionally corrupted to make a traditional sounding name, and thus Darek Steele or Darek Silver).

My RL name suits me just fine...it's not to flashy, or to presumptous, it just is.

Charon is the handle I am planning on using on any other board I may join. As for my SD.Net one, well it is a rather defunct name and the italics I use would easily give away that it is indeed me, but I don't really see a need to change it.

As for my real name, I really like it so no way would I change. Besides, it's way to much fun messing with people's heads as my name is now.
