(8:31:41 PM) B4UTRUST: You are now to be refered to as bakies
(8:31:46 PM) B4UTRUST: you do not cook cookies you bake them

The basis of my argument is that the title of cookie is incorrect as the principle part of it is a reference to a method of preparation. A method, I point out, that in the case of 'cookies' is incorrect as one does not cook 'cookies', you bake them. You cook a steak, you cook a roast , you cook a chicken. You bake bread, you bake a potato and by Ramsey you BAKE 'cookies.' I move that they no longer be referred to as 'cookies' but rather their more correct title of bakies.
As I pointed out to rhoenix on IM, it has nothing to do with the device in which they are prepared, or even the dish or utensil used but rather the manner in preparation. You could bake bakies on a rock in the middle of the desert with nothing more than the sun to heat them and they would be baked and would therefore be bakies!
So vote bakies on prop 225437

I think however correct you may be, this is going to be a tough sell.

The basis of your argument is incorrect. The title of "cookie" is a reference to the item in question being, essentially, a little cake. The word "cookie" is an Anglicization of the Dutch word "koekje" which is turn the diminutive of "koek", meaning "cake" or "wafer".B4UTRUST wrote:The basis of my argument is that the title of cookie is incorrect as the principle part of it is a reference to a method of preparation.
So, you're wrong! Cookie stays! ^-^
Say it with me! Cookie! Coooookiiiieeee! Cookie! Cookie! Cookie! Cookie!

Moreover, baking is merely a form of cooking, along with other forms such as stewing, broiling, grilling, frying, etc... So while you do bake cookies, you also cook them. In the same way that grilling a steak is still cooking it.
Gaze upon my works, ye mighty, and despair...

Bah! Logic has no place in this either. It is a bakie!
BTW, if anyone believes me to be serious about this, I'm not. I really don't care either way, I just wanted to make the argument.
