Well, eventually Nal will have to find out about his daughter. Hopefully before she's used against him. (Is Sympathetic Magic possible in D&D?)

And I wonder how long before Kaeryn and Nalifan are talking again? Months or years?

I've read the first trilogy of the BlackCompany, but none of the ones after so I'm a little lost over the background of your story. However, that's not stopping me from enjoying it so far :)

Its taking place during the first book, just parts of the north the Black Company wasn't fighting in at the time. Note the repeated mentioin of certain Taken in the present tense who didn't survive the Battle at Charm at the end of the first book. The war between the Lady and the Rebel lasted a generation before she put them down. The Black Company took contract with Soul Catcher in the last few years of that war.

Interesting start. I see many players in this little drama, and I can't wait to see how many of them foolishly try to manipulate Nalifan.

Is it recent, or from when she's old & grey and looking back on her life? Not that it would make much difference to Nalifan .. damn elves and their lifespans.

This really has my intrest as it seems we are in a world where psionic abilities are more common than our homeworld.

Actually since we know of at least one elf native (our buddy the ice mage from part 1 remember?) we might want to ask, what is it that makes psionicist think that all elves are their enemies?

Remember these guys are the local enforcers of Psionicist rule.

Who said the elves did anything to deserve this? The Jews have been on the recieving end of pograms for generations for the crime of existing.

I read this aloud, and Devonie instantly piped up from the next room "Where do I sign up?"

But the sheer idea of Nalifan & Co. as an Elven Champion(s), coming to lay out a little punishment for centuries of pograms?

Sadly, I can see Corellion being that practical, using the material at hand as his weapon.

Nal won't like it, so it'd have to be a very subtle manipulation... Corellion might have better luck with Trizkel....

Oh, I'm not saying that at all. I was just responding to your "what did the elves do to this world" comment by pointing out that the elves didn't necessarily do anything to deserve hatred.
