Argent gave Gravitas a look of relief. It was so nice to have him back to help explain things. "It doesn't, no. I'd have had to leave Ghost and travel the distance without going between. Your idea would work better." She again looked to Blackheart. "Permission to go?"

"That should work," said Blackheart.

Gravitas sighed and pulled on the suit. "I suppose the Gulf Stream will just air-dry me." He said dryly as he did his best to change discreetly and hurriedly without adding to delay. The signs of gore really didn't fit the business attire. "Ready when you are, Argent."

Argent was polite enough to leave before Gravitas got fully naked. She slid into the shadows and traced the link to Ghost.

She did note that it was NOT in the same place she'd found him earlier, as that was now a separate destination in her 'map' of between. There were a lot of shadows in the place Ghost had chosen, which made her feel a little better about this meeting.

Her eyes appeared first as always, visually inspecting the area before she emerged. She sent a burst of *Relax* before she spoke to him. "New place... Sentinel not want me inside, I take it?"

Far enough above the two to be barely visible, Gravitas followed through a wormhole, floating on a thermal gently as he watched. No need to rush. She'd send a signal in things went ugly.

[Agent Fisher]

Ghost set his helmet down, still sitting in the shade. "You could say that. Apperently there are teleport inhibitors there. Plus, nice to talk alone, you know?" He said.

Ghost leaned back against the rock. "So, you wanted to talk to me?" He asked. "Least that's what Sentinel told me."

"Inhibitors? Well, that's good to know," she said, emerging from the shadows to take a seat on another rock nearby. She sent a pulse of *Happy/Safe* to Gravitas and to Blackheart to ease their minds a little. "Now I'll know not to sneak up on you in the middle of the night," she quipped with a faint smile.

Ghost had left nearly thirty minutes ago. Saibot hadn't gone to his quarters to sleep, instead he had went to the command deck. Pulling up the security feeds, he watched his ally suit up, enter the shaft, then fly off into the distance.

"Will you sell me out Ghost....will you risk what we'll do to rejoin them?"

He spoke the words to the empty air as Ghost's energy trail faded from the view screen. He shook his head, as he pulled up the satellite link-up protocols, and went back to work. He wasn't a Cyberpath, but maybe he'd get lucky enough with the old files to establish something....

Ghost chuckled. "Well, just as long as you weren't sneaking on me when me and Amy were..." He trailed off, his face now sad. "Anything you want to talk about?" He asked, looking down at his left ring finger, at the bump in the glove where his ring still was.

"No. First time I had ever been in your house was the night you needed me," she said softly, kicking herself mentally for calling Amy 'Mary' all this time. "That is part of what I need to talk to you about, Ghost.... or is it Overwatch now?"

[Agent Fisher]

He shook his head. "Times like this. It's Dan." He said. "So, is this about Gazer?" He asked, looking at her. "Let me guess, you told Blackheart about Amy, and then it turns out that Gazer dies, and I'm sure I look very appealing as a suspect."

She had the grace to look ashamed. "Yes. Blackheart says he just wants to ask you to your face if you did it. He doesn't believe me when I told him if you did it you'd have either walked up to his house and shot him in the doorway, or just pulled him into a dark alley to shoot him."

She was monitoring Ghost's emotions. She felt she had to. Blackheart had been right about Ghost being in the suit... and she knew and hated Blackheart for his habit of being right. She really wanted to see Blackheart be wrong about this one.

[Agent Fisher]

He chuckled humorlessly . "Yeah sounds like Blackheart. I guess it didn't occur to him there is no way I could have done those things to his body? And yeah, if I killed Gazer, it would have been in a dark alley with some random trash gun that I could dump. But he was found, staked to a building all twisted." He paused, feelings of disappointment rising within him, as though he had missed his chance and would never get it again. "Besides, after he was gone, I realized, I didn't want revenge, I just wanted justice." He said, his emotions still ringing with his own reminder of his loss

Feelings of disappointment she could understand, especially since days earlier he'd been all but plotting aloud how to kill Gazer.

"You're lying, there, Dan...," she said softly. "You just want her back."

[Agent Fisher]

Looking up at her, he tilted his head at her statement proclaiming he was lying. He kept calm though and then felt a spike of grief at her words. "Yes, yes I do. I'd do anything to get her back, trade places with her, whatever. But I can't. So, here I sit, trying to prevent another person losing someone they care about. Guardian Force is offering that. Ultima? I'd just be manning a desk the rest of my time there. They don't want me on a front line team anymore. My old job? Well, then all I'd end up doing is making people lose loved ones. Mirage team? Ha! You'd all either have me constantly watched, or just cut me loose again." He said.

She was the one who looked away as he listed off the reasons to stay. She could feel that he believed he was right, and she had to admit he probably was right about Ultima and Mirage team's reactions.

"Can't really blame you there," she finally said, kicking at a rock on the ground. "I'd leave Mirage too." Yet there was a reluctance in her voice, as she thought of having to leave Tachyon and her house.

[Agent Fisher]

Ghost looked over at her. "Really? That bad huh? Like I've said, if stuff goes way to bad, get out and get away. Head back to Ultima and explain the situation if that's what it takes." He said, looking around the bluffs. "Shoulda brought water." He said to himself.

"if you're ready to talk to Blackheart, I can bring him and some drinks," she offered. "It's not like he doesn't have the fridge full of beer...." she added with a roll of her eyes.

[Agent Fisher]

Ghost nodded. "Sure, he can come." He said. "And water will do fine."

Team Mirage Headquarters (AKA Li Na's residence)

Reclining in his chair, mostly being an observer to the plans swiftly reaching fruition and developing in front of him, Alexander realized that he needed to be doing something to help them. He'd never really practiced his abilities before, which is what he attributed being so tired after doing so, as well as not being able to do more.

A smile slowly grew on his face as he realized all he needed was an enclosed space within which to practice; minor damage he could notify Argent of if the occurred, and he could pay for the damage, if things came to that. He was a bit incredulous at the idea, despite accounting for it, when he suddenly remembered his tricks with electricity and his makeshift whip earlier, or bending laser beams.

"Hey, Blackheart?" he asked, in a thoughtfully-casual way. "I need a place to practice and hone my talents without bothering people. Mind if I use the garage for a bit, or should I wait for Argent to get home before I ask?"

It was thirty minutes into working on the satellite uplink code, Garth gave up. He looked at the onscreen chrono, and cursed under his breath.

Kyosuke would be in Vegas by now....and he would be trying to make his way back to the base. Saving the code for later look through, the helmet reformed around his head, and he moved to the lift.

Two minute later, he was flying just off the ground, at speed, on his way. He had told Kyosuke the approximate location of the base, and even brought the man there before he mysteriously left. With luck, he would be going the same way...


At speed, the flight to Las Vegas was a lil over 25 minutes, he was only 3 minutes from Vegas when his helmet scanners picked up something ahead. he slowed down in plenty of time, to see a man walking through the desert, a sword in hand, and a bag of other odd things...

"Kyosuke?" he called out, hovering just a couple hundred yards from the traveler.

Argent rose to her feet, before pausing and looking down at Ghost, troubled. "He's going to ask about Sentinel," she warned. "He is convinced Sentinel is Saibot, trying to hide. There's just too many coincidences for him to believe otherwise. He's not listening to me, or to anyone else on this, Dan. If Sentinel is Saibot, Blackheart is going to take that base apart brick by brick, and Gravitas, Blast, and Hotfoot will help him."

[Agent Fisher]

He shrugged. "Let him ask." He said, now focusing on the fact that Garth had said that Saibot was gone. "Saibot is not Sentinel." He said, answering truthfully. From a certain point of view.

[LadyTevar]

The problem with Empathy? It falls for the Certain Point of View, as long as the person being read has faith in that POV. Argent felt Ghost's certainty that Sentinel wasn't Saibot, and had to accept that as the truth.

In a small way, it relieved her. "Good." She elongated into her dragon-form before adding more. "Dan... there are a lot of people who still love the Guardians, you know," she said, looking him in the eye. "You're going to have to live up to a pretty big memory." Her eyes gave away her own hopes. "Don't fuck it up; not after Saibot. If you're going to become the Guardians... Do It Right."

With that, she entered a shadow and was gone.

The man paused, setting the sword case point down and resting his weight on it. It was obvious when he was walking that he had been limping badly, but the man resembled nothing of the Kyosuke that had been known. Taller and far more Caucasian. The voice was altered too.
"Yes. Your Homeland Security has been most vigilent in trying to keep people out that they want kept out. Of course they have been looking for me. I assume Ultima and the others are too. The change was neccessary."

The man looked up and grinned. It was not comforting, or happy.
"But the efforts are worthwhile."

He gently shook the bag.
"Enough to get us started."
