"Are you sure we are in the correct time and relative dimensions in space," Lord Adam questions while checking over the controls of the TARDIS. At the same time, the Lady looks out the viewer, noting star locations.

Lord Adam looks up from the controls, then pulls out a type I hand phaser from his belt, turns it down to the lowest setting, and fires at a wall.

"What are you doing?" The Doctor protests, but Adam simply walks up to the wall that was hit, and feels it, noting it's temperature rose by only a few degrees.

"And we are in no holodeck," he concludes, putting the phaser back on his belt.

"Indeed," the Lady agrees, "and our spacial coordinates are correct, I noted no significant drift nor changes in the sun; we are in the correct era as well."

"And I can sense a magical wake." He finally turns to the Doctor, "Good sir, what you have said is indeed true it seems."

"That's settled then, and next time don't shoot my ship," the Doctor glared, "I have to live in this thing you know." He gestured outside the window at the barren rock which could once have been mistaken for a planet, "That is all that remains of your Great and Bountiful A'millian Empire, Lord Adam... we need to stop this thing... this Nyarlathotep as it calls itself... it needs to be stopped before it can gain power, we can stop it now if we act fast enough, but if you leave it too long it will be too late... and everywhere will be another Gallifrey."

Verishah scratched her head in confusion, but stepped into the device nonetheless. A yell from Demika got the Doctor going in the right direction.

Deep Space

A singular Sanet scientific research vessel floated through space, its elegant, golden figure illuminated by a strange source.

That source was a swirling, coruscating void, several million miles away. Sanet researchers aboard the craft watched the anomaly with extreme caution; but from their telling expressions, it was obvious that even the tech-savvy Sanet could do nothing about the anomaly, whatever it was.

Inside a cargo bay aboard the research ship, the TARDIS again materialized. Verishah was the first out, followed by the others. A short walk later, they were inside the ship's command center, where Doctor Hiamed, the head researcher for the operation, stood, continuing to review data with an exhausted look on his face.

"Lady Verishah," he greeted, somewhat surprised to see her. "What brings you here so soon?"

"I've been told of a reason as to why the rupture exists," Verishah stated. "My friends believe that a powerful entity has created this, and caused the displacement, intentionally."

"A literal divine intervention?" Hiamed remarked. "I'm surprised to hear something such as that coming from your lips, Verishah."

"I know," she sighed. "I hardly believe it myself."

"Well beautiful, you'll just have to believe it," Demika smirked. "It's real, and it's caused by a god."

"There is no god," Hiamed scoffed. "The Nwayshah'denar taught us that millenia ago!"

"We're scientists, friends," Verishah sighed. "We need better answers to our questions than 'it's a god', no offense intended."

"Some things can't be explained by science alone," Ellen said.

"On the contrary," said Verishah, "we believe that all things can, sooner or later, be explained by scientific methods. What the Sanet once called magic, back in the days of Irikhar Ghero, is now the science of psionics, for just one example."

"A refreshing attitude," Ra stated. "So long have I had to tolerate a group of people to which magic was the only knowledge."

Galadriel glared at him.

"My friends, all I am saying is that we should consider a more thorough reason as to how this... Nyarlathtep has created the rift," Verishah continued. "That way, we could find a way to undo it."

Observing his consoles, Hiamet said, "One thing we noticed, Verishah, is that the rift has no power source of any kind maintaining it. Despite the fact that such a rift would require roughly enough power to burn the surface of a planet, every second.

"Then it's being remotely maintained," said Galadriel.

"Maybe it's a device similar to the priest's orb?" Ellen inquired.

"If so, we must find a way to destroy these orbs," Demika added. "Though last time we tried, it was of no use."

"Maintained remotely?" Verishah pondered. "Then the actual power source must be somewhere... Hiamet, scan for power signatures again."

Looking back up, he answered, "Nothing."

"Try the closest system," Verishah continued.

Hiamet nodded, and said, "I am reading a slight energy source over the seventh planet of the Dashar-Valo System. We haven't been able to read any energy projections to the rift, so we didn't see the connection."

"We should leave a beacon here, and continue our investigation in orbit of the planet," Verishah continued.

"As you wish, Lady Verishah," he nodded.

"This tells us much," Galadriel said, "But it only brings us more questions. Why does the Center of Chaos need an energy source?"

"Perhaps it doesn't?" Ellen inquired.

"Nevertheless, we should return to Earth for now, and further our investigation."

The group nodded in agreement.

OOC: The Doctor should really take a bit more of an Active Role in Conversations... he's the Doctor, not a post in the corner, and he's easily the most knowledgeable person in the TGOD, bar the players
_________

"Wait," the Doctor spoke up, "that Priest... there was something about him I didn't quite notice at that time, but did any of you notice that despite the battle raging on in there, the Grandfather clock which you neglected to notice in the corner was completely undamaged?"

"Yeah, we're all so stupid for not noticing a goddamned clock," Ra muttered. "I guess our next clue will be the poodle taking a piss on a fire hydrant, which we 'conveniently' failed to notice during our brief stay in London."

Demika sighed, and asked, "What are you getting at, Doc?"

"That clock wasn't damaged, at all, despite the heavy amount of fire and magic being thrown about," the Doctor said, "not even a slight singe... and that Priest was strange, he seemed to know all too well what a lightsabre was and how to use one;" he grimaced, "out of all the people who could have survived, why him?"

"That grandfather clock was a TARDIS," he grimaced, "and that priest was a Time Lord, and I've a sneaking suspicion as to which one."

"Doctor," Adam asks, now imitating the Doctor's accent for fun, "do you know anything about this thing's motives; why is it doing this?"

"Perhaps," the Lady suggests, also imitating his accent, "we should take this police box of yours and see where it rests in the future? Since we are here and all."

"Oh hot," Adam remarks concering the Lady's new accent, "and I have to agree with the good lass, let's see where it is, and take in some of our environs; it may go to show intent."

"What say ye, Doctor?"

"If my hypothesis is correct;" the Ninth Doctor said, "the TARDIS was destroyed in vain because we couldn't stop it otherwise, Nyarlathotep needed weakening before he could be destroyed, and not even dragging him into the Time Vortex worked."

"Where it is?" the Ninth Doctor cocked an eyebrow, "Given a single guess; hell." He cleared his throat; "Weakening it isn't a problem, we merely remove its followers, and then hit it with something powerful enough, and I mean capital ship powerful..." he sighed, "the TARDIS is unarmed, it's useless on that front, and we can't go about placing it in a time loop without the help of the Time Lords."

"Ready a ship when we get back," the Ninth Doctor said as he went to manipulate the TARDIS' controls again, taking them back to A'millian prime, "forget your bloody Star Trek, acting quickly is the key to winning this, and you can watch Star Trek after we win."

"Oh, and here," the Ninth Doctor handed over what looked like an average mobile phone, "it's modified so I can speak to you in any time and any place, now I'll see you later, Lord Adam."

The doors closed, and the TARDIS vanished.

Lord Adam presses the comm panel.

"Mathias?"

"Yes sir," the aged voice of the Chair of the A'millian Royal Academy of Magic responds on the intercom.

"I want you to pull all avaliable data on an entity called ``Nyarlathotep''."

"I'm on it."

Adam presses the button again.

"Hoisler,"

"Sir," Captian of the Most Excellent Order of the Elite Knights of the A'millian Star Empire Sir Hoisler responds.

"Dispatch teams of your men to various worlds outside our borders in search of worshippers of an entity called ``Nyarlathotep''. The Ninth Starfleet is at your disposal."

"Consider it done, sir." he promptly responds.

Once more he presses the communications button.

"Greetings command," the voice of Vice Admiral Jack Carter, commander of the A'millian Ninth Starfeet, instantly answers the hail.

"Commander Hoisler's Knights will need a lift through the stars, you are ordered to provide one."

"Our pleasure, sir."

He once again operates the comm panel.

"We have you on visual!" an eccentric man wearing a labcoat quickly answers.

"I've got a neutrino problem, and you're the man to help me with it."

"Name it and we'll technobabble it into oblivion."

"In orbit, where the spacelines shuttle flew."

"I thought you might say that and we are already in it."

"Very good, Doctor. Out."

He looks up at the Lady, then presses one more button. The bridge of the Enterprise-A once again fills the screen.

They sit back down and watch the film.

"I can't beleive I kissed you!" James T. Kirk says to his doppleganger on the big screen.

"Must have been your lifelong ambition."

"What a great response," the Lady remarks.

"Oh man this is awesome. Look at Kirk's face," the A'millian says to his dearest friend.

"Hahaha! William Shatner is brilliant, who else could make the perfect face before punching himself in it?" she answers.

"Ouch! Poor Bones!" Adam grimaces.

The shapeshifter is disintegrated.

"Do you think the Klingon realized that that was their agent?" the Lady asks.

"I think he did; never trust a traitor, not even one you create. Ahh! Who does that?"

"They were going to die anyway...."

"Idiot!" Adam yells at the Klingon.

"I kinda want one of those blankets," the Lady says.

"Damn, we are absolute rulers of an interstellar empire; just order one made."

"I want a Connie too...." she hints.

"Oooo! We could order the Enterprise to be built!! Complete with blankets and coffee cups!"

"That seems a little indulgant... but oh gods it is a beautiful ship."

"It's settled then, we are building the Enterprise as soon as we finish saving the world again."

"Kickass." she happily says.

"Badass Sulu moments coming up." Adam demonstrates his supurb knowledge of Star Trek.

"Great how they call each other Captian Kirk and Captian Sulu. I love how the TOS cast actually seems like old friends; nay they are family."

"Aye," Adam agrees.

"Awesome seeing the ships zoom by."

"FLY HER APART THEN!" Sulu's manly voice fills the room.

"This film is the perfect counterpoint to all those assholes who say gay men are pussies: look at George Takei and Captian Sulu." Adam comments.

"And the upcoming 'target that explosion and fire'. Perfect deleivery" the Lady says.

"General Chang is no Khan, but he kicks the shit out of Shinzon and that Bored.. err Borg Queen."

"Chang is fun. At least he and Kirk meet face to face in this film, unlike Kirk and Khan."

"Yeah, but they met back in Space Seed."

"Yes," she says, "I've watched the show before."

"Look at Chang punish these ships."

"Fire!", Kirk orders.

"The tables have turned!" Adam says in a Strong Bad impression.

"Target that explosion and fire."

"Fire!"

"Fire!"

"Chang got no less than he deserved," the Lady w00ts.

"I love how the command crew beams down instead of security officers or marines or something," Adam critizes.

"Well, Trek always does that." she apologizes.

"Yeah, but no red shirts."

"Unneeded death would have ruined the scene!" the Lady protests.

"Dude, Rene Auberjonis looks weird without his makeup."

"Yeah, even in those bizarre DS9 eps he did," she adds, "and the pink Klingon blood. Never seen again."

"That is because the fucking MPAA would have given them a harser rating with realistic blood."

"Don't those shitwads understand Earth's greatest extraplanetary export is movies?"

"Apparenlty not. But then again, they probably still think they are alone in the universe."

"Good film anyways."

"So.... you wanna watch The Wrath of Khan?"

"Yes! But we can't, we have universal amageddon to prevent."

"You mean like the Genesis device....."

"Seriously," she declines.

"Fiiiine. Putting the lives of quadrillions above your own desire to watch TV. How could you?!"

"I know, so evil of me. Now, we'd better get back to work."

"Right..."

"Mathias to Adam, if you could meet me in the Academy Library, I've found some information on the entity."

"We're on our way."

The Lord and Lady exit his office and start walking through the halls of the A'millian castle, a structure which houses Central Command, the residence of the Lord and Lady, the Royal Academy of Magic, and even a R&D facility in the lower levels, and far down, the "Nervous" supercomputer AI and power plant, which control a number of artificial systems across the globe.

"What do you make of the situation thus far," Adam asks his better half as they walk through the corridors.

"I do not know; we have insuffecent data at this time," she responds frankly.

"Sirs," the Royal Guardsman guarding the egress from the residential section stops them, and checks their identification, before requiring them to enter their verification codes to open the door. Once satified, he says simply "move along," and closes the door behind them.

"Indeed," Adam continues, as if not interrupted at all, "hopefully the Knights will come up with something quickly."

"I'm sure they will," she says while swiping her card to activate the lift they came to, "what about what the Doctor said about weaking it by removing it's followers?"

"Hmm, " they walk into the lift and operate the controls to go to the Magic Academy Library, on level three, "you know how hard it is sto shake irrational beings of their faith."

"Aye. If it is a small group we may be able to do something though," she speculates.

The door opens and they are greeted by another Guardsman, who again checks creditionals before allowing them to enter their codes to enter the section. They then walk into a section which is well lit by natural light, and proceed through a wholly transparent passageway that is rissen, with nothing below it all the way to the ground.

It is like walking on air; you can see all around you. Lord Adam is a fan of little beautiful things like this, and had a few nicities built into the castle.

At the end of the tunnel through air, they enter a massive chamber containing hundreds of thousands of old magical tomes and related texts, and are greeted by the visibly aged Grand Wizard, Mathias, holding some books.

"Ah excellent, you guys will find this most interesting," he casually greets them.

While the Lord and Lady are often lax on formalities such as titles and rank, most servicemen they meed treats them as high ranking military officers, with the "Sir" titles, and many other people call them by "Lord" and "Lady" out of respect. Mathias is one of the few who often, but not always, address them casually in person, as they have known each other for a long time.

The three of them met during the Third Millineum War, one thousand years ago, while the Lord and Lady were still serving as Imperial Knights. Mathias was already considered a Wizard at that point, a title reserved for only very powerful mages, and resided in the magical floating city of Zea, an exclusive community of powerful mages over the world of A'millian Prime.

When Zea was attacked and destroyed during the War, he joined Sir Adam and his party on their adventures. At the closure of the War, he was with Adam's party, who were one of only two groups of A'millians to survive the biological weapon attack that destroyed their native population. Newly ascended Lord Adam needed someone he could trust to train the forces that would start to rebuild the Imperial A'millian Knights, and offered the job to the Wizard Mathias.

He took the job and has been serving in that capacity for nearly 1,000 years. He is currently 2,002 years old, older than the average A'millian normally survives, unnatural death excluded, but still excellently excelling at his duties.

"What have you got for us?" Adam asks.

"In these works by one H. P. Lovecraft,"

"Lovecraft. Whoda thunk it?" The Lady interjects.

"Ahem," the Grand Wizard continues, "in the works of H. P. Lovecraft, Nyarlathotep is a being of great power, who unlike the old ones, like Cthulhu, is rather human like in his actions. He has great power, and activly uses it, spreading madness, and liking it, often while masquarding as a human."

"Fascinating. Do you beleive he is capable of bringing destruction to whole worlds?"

"Directly, no, I see no evidence of that. But indirectly, most he most certainly can. According to Lovecraft's work, which I must remind you is fiction, and he may have taken some artistic license, he executes the will of the Outer Gods, and can summon elementals to destroy a planet."

"Is their any mention of him drawing power from followers, al la the Ori, etc?" the Lady asks.

"None I have found thus far, however my search is far from complete, and something may come up."

"Interesting. How about his motives. Why do this?" Adam inquires.

"Well, spreading madness just seems to be his hobby, and destroying planets may be to make a home for the return of the Old Ones."

"Anything else we should know?"

"Yes, he is certainly not the only problem here, or if he is, what we know about his is terribly, terribly incomplete. I'll keep you posted if I learn more."

"Very good."

"Nyarlathotep's control of a Timelord?" Ra remarked. "That... can't be good."

"More correctly, it's a rightly catastrophic problem," the Doctor clarified. "Bloody catastrophic."

"Why was he using magic then?" Ellen asked. "I've never, ever, seen you cast spells, and outside your admitedly powerful latent abilities, you don't have any magical adeptitude."

"No, I do not," the Doctor answered. "Frankly, I don't know why the Master would use magicks, but using his logic, probably to expand his own power. A Timelord..."

"Combined with the power of an Arch-mage, yes," Ellen nodded. "He could challenge some of the lesser Gods for power, given time. We couldn't harm this Master because we were unknowingly fighting a demigod."

"Challenging Nyarlathotep for power," Galadriel noted.

"But the results were too obvious;" Demika stated. "He lost, and is now this diety's pawn."

"A pawn of terrible power, but a pawn none the less," Galadriel sighed. "And one that is spreading Nyarlathotep's cult."

"But the truth is that we must work to combat the Master's attempts at spreading this cult," Galadriel warned.

"Precisely," Ellen nodded, crossing her arms. "A god's power is determined by how many worshippers they have, as far as I've observed. They tap energy directly from the immensely powerful Aether within the Astral Plane, but how much power they can channel depends on the amount of followers they have. Given enough converts, this god could rise from a minor inhabitant of the Abyss to a truly powerful diety."

"Indeed," Galadriel nodded.

"And even before then, the Master was ever a dangerous and cunning oppoent," the Doctor stated. "This... is bad news indeed."

"No one is truly unstopable, Doctor," Taurandir stated, the monk looking ever so at peace. "Though I will not understate his power, I only say that he must have a weakness, one that can be used to our advantage."

"We need to know more about who we're dealing with, too," Ra said. "We know precisely jack shit about this Nyarlathotep, or what he plans."

Galadriel then nodded, and said, "Then our task is twofold. Demika, Morfindel, Taurandir, Ellen, I would wish for you to return to Earth aboard the TARDIS, and help destroy Nyarlathotep's cult, as well as see to what Kane has been doing, along with his lacky Baal, the vile Goa'uld. The rest of us shall remain with the Sanet, and tend to things on a... larger scale. Both of our groups must gather information as well."

"Good as done, m'lady," Demika nodded. "Ready for a new adventure, hon?"

"If it means stopping this mad god and fighting for good, I am," Morfindel nodded.

In Lord Adam's office, the comm panel beeps.

"Yes," he answers it.

"Hoisler here, sir. Update on our mission: thus far, only one team has found any of the worshippers, but they seem to have hit it big: a whole god-damned planet of them, at KCX-236."

"Industrialized or primitive," the Lady asks.

"Industrialized, sir, population of about four billion humans, tech level: about 1970's Earth."

"And you are saying the entire planet has been compromised?"

"Mostly, sir. Nyarlathotep worshipping is a mainstream religion there, present in all regions of the planet, dominate in most. However, our team shows this to be a mostly recent phoenomon; historic texts show it to have very limited influnce."

"How did the report describe their devotion to this worship?"

"Mostly moderate, with small, yet very vocal packets of extremists. Similar situation to Christianity in the United States on Earth."

"Tell the team to attempt talking to some of these people, see how open they are to reason, but be sure they keep a low profile."

"Understood sir. Also, Sir Patrick and Sir Warren should be arriving in Earth orbit within the hour. We expect to find worshippers there too and intel reports some of the Lady Galadriel's party may be in the area. We intend to make contact with them if possible."

"Very well, keep me appraised."

"Yes sir. Hoisler out."

OOC: Adam, any idea as to what became of the rogue Destructionators? Perhaps they, or the Lord and Lady themselves, could eventually come back into contact with Ra and Galadriel? I'm not proposing an alliance, considering how we let the story develop sofar, but a brief exchange of information might be mutually beneficial.

==========================

"Verishah, any new information on what those orbs do?" Ra inquired.

"The information we've been able to extract sofar is very vague," the gray-eyed Sanet answered.

"We were able to scan the surface of the orb however," Hiamet added. "It's covered in micro-engravings, which in total come to a respectable amount of computer code. We have yet to translate the data, but we've been making progress."

"What about civilization on the planet?" the Goa'uld continued.

"The planet is essentially barren," Verishah answered. "We never had much interest in it, though it was rumored to be a Say'sanet outpost centuries ago."

"Say'sanet?" Ra raised an eyebrow.

"Essentially brigands and murderers, they exiled themselves from our race over a millenia ago," Verishah answered in a grim tone. "They started a genocial war, and also used our people's gift of psionics in... unspeakable ways."

"Well, that's another race I'll be sure to avoid..." Ra nodded. "Though they sound like they might come in handy against the Ori."

"Stop obsessing about the Ori," Galadriel sighed. "Against Nyarlathotep, let alone the Guardians, they are nothing, and sooner or later, Colonel Carter will discover an Ancient Weapon of the Week to DXM them back into the Stone Age."

"Good point" Ra said. "Where were we?"

Verishah laughed, and then said, "The strange orb. I've been working alongside the linguistic team to translate the markings."

"You're some kind of linguist, I take it?" Ra stated.

"Yes," Verishah smiled. "How else do you think I can speak your language without the Doctor's translator device around?"

"I had forgotten this wasn't Star Trek Voyager," Ra muttered. "Anyway, what do the researchers know about the device's power source?"

"It appears to draw energy from the existential energy of the universe," Verishah said.

Ra crossed his arms, and asked, "Like a zero-point energy module?"

"In a way, I suppose, but not ZPE device ever created can generate that much energy, not from the fabric of our universe," Verishah replied.

"Yes, that's why Ancient ZPM's use a pocket dimension," Ra muttered. "But we're still getting nowhere."

"Perhaps we should go down to the planet and observe the device ourselves," Galadriel finally stated.

"I'd advise against it, Lady Galadriel," said Verishah.

"Young Verishah, we've never gotten far against insurmountable enemies by playing it safe," the elf smiled.

Verishah nodded, and said, "Very well, I'll have a shuttle dispatch us at once. The planet's atmosphere is breathable, albeit very hot."

"I think a mutual exchange of information with Galadriel may be in our interest," the Lady suggests to Adam.

"While I'd prefer taking care of this ourselves, I think you might be right."

He presses the comm panel. "Hoisler, Mathias, report to my office."

"The question is how do we intend to find her."

"Easy, I shall just call the Doctor on this device he left us. He will surely know."

"Indeed, good strat."

He opens up the cell phone like device, "Doctor, I request an audience."

The Ninth Doctor waited idly by the telephone, travelling through time and space. The reason he wasn't answering Lord Adam was that not even a universal and high-tech telephone works without dialling a number.

"Bizarre, no response."

"Perhaps it needs to be dialed?"

"He never said anything about that. And if it does, he didn't leave us a number."

"We could try the operator."

"Oh fuck it, we'll just take our own ship."

"Let me see that," she takes it from him, "I'll just hit speed dial.... and it's ringing. That was hard."

Adam mumbles curses to himself.

The Ninth Doctor's phone started ringing, and the Doctor simply pressed a button, "You getting involved yet?"
