Caden paused a moment at the dragons words, until that moment he figured it was a summoning or a familer of the mages. Now he was beginng to think it was either another mage....or possibly a druid. Either way, it would be interesting to see IF she changes....and to what?

It's a scarey thing when a dragon grins. Even if the dragon is being friendly, that many long, sharp teeth shouldn't be flashed.

"Just realized I am real, did you?" Jernei asked the elf, highly amused. She rose to her feet, arching her back like a cat waking from a nap, then stretched her wings outas fully as possible... which means one nearly touched Caden before they are furled flat to her back. "What did you find, BlackClaw? Anything interesting?" the dragon called out... to a gold-scaled KOBOLD, of all things, clad in platium armor.

"Nice toys." Blackclaw said as he slung a longbow and quiver over his back and went about adjusting bracers for himself. "Very nice toys. Thankfully, my blade didn't hurt them too bad."

Tormenta dragged himself to his feet and walked over to the remnents of the cleric and picked up his flail and sheild then stuffed them in his pocket, they dissapeared perfectly. "These items are unholy, they need to be distroyed" he said frankly before walking over to the assassin's bodies and collecting the swords in a similar manner."

"That's good... grab the trident for me, will you?" Jernei asked, as if the dragon and the kobold were old friends and partners. "Master Vincent, you're sure these are the Fundare?" she asked as she crossed the clearing to stand over the elder sage. Nothing that large should move nearly as silently and gracefully as a housecat. Still a few decades away from adult size, her head still had to be lowered to speak eye to eye with the sage. "Blackclaw and I went through quite a lot of trouble to gain those."

Vincent looked over them. he read the first little bit of the first page and his mind was flooded with the first year of his magical training all over again

"Oh yes. I wont however, be able to Speak with the Dead until tomorrow, regretably, I do not have it prepared. I would think though that perhaps Shar herself has taken up some sort of patronage over the city of shade and has bent her clergy to it's works. But that is just speculation"

But one set does not solve the problem. We need these somewhere safe.. Which, as much as it pains me to say, is not presently with my clan. They will return to us, but it is best if they are held somewhere more reliable for now."

"There is always *my* clan..." Jernei helpfully suggested. Of course, that meant it would be in her home. With all her belongings. As part of what she claimed as hers.

There are many rumors why dragons collect hordes.

As much as I would say this is a safe place now. I think we should find a better haven to wait, until we can get the nessasary information and decide the saftest place for everything.

"Candlekeep is fairly safe. The vault is protected against divinations and dimensional travel, as well as the monastary itself being heavily guarded"

"No, Jernei. I trust Candlekeep to be more secure. It has superior enchantments." The kobold said simply. Frankly, he didn't want her laying claim. "Candlekeep it is. I will inform my senior spellweavers to journey to the city with a handful of books each to resume their research and assist your scholars. Then..."

He tested the bow, hoisting it up and adjusting his stance. "We find the rest." A kobold with a human's longbow.. And showing all signs of being able to wield it effectively.. was a scary thought.

Vincent smiled and looked over at the Kobald, tilting his head quizically. How the hell was he going to draw back the bowstring a distance which was longer than he was tall?

"Alright. I will make the necessary arrangments." He scrawled a note down and then pulled a scroll from a pocket. he uttered the words and in a flash of light the Fundare appeared on the Incoming Mail desk right at the entrance to the Candlekeep vault.

Note: I dont actually know the keep's security measures, but I cannot imagine them not being insane

"Going to pull it with your tail, little dragonkin?" Jernei teased the kobold as he tested the longbow. "I'll bet a pearl you'll miss any target you try to hit that way."

She did sigh slightly as the Fundare was teleported away. Yes, she'd read them herself, and she was sure she'd be given the chance to again.. but still.

It was complicated. Holding the bow steady with one hand like a human, he nocked with one hand and pulled the string with his tail. It was clear he'd done it before, and had drilled it into himself. Three arrows sung with surprising accuracy.

And here I was afraid I was the only one who could fire more then one arrow at a time. A grin came arcoss his face....if these were the people going up against Shar then we all might have a good chance of makeing it.

The dragon looked like she'd suddenly been hit in the head with a poleaxe as the arrows not only hit the tree, but all hit within a narrow grouping.

Slowly the metallic head swiveled to glare down at the kobold. "You... have done that before," she accused him.

The Kobold grinned up at her. "I never claimed that I hadn't. Now..." a greedy claw was extended out and up. "You mentioned a pearl?"

Dragonic green eyes narrow, and static electricity sparkled along her neck and jawline. However... she had made the bet. She had not, however, said how BIG a pearl she was betting. She twisted her body, reaching into a 'belt pouch' slung behind her wings and in front of her hips. Carefully she withdrew a small black cloth, laying it down on the ground. The black circle was small, just large enough for a small child to fall thru, or for a dragonic arm to suddenly plunge into.

It was bemusing, watching a dragon half-lying on the ground, rooting around a portable hole for something within it... and then she withdrew her arm, her claws closed around something, and the other hand picked up the black cloth and stuffed it away.

Jernei held out her arm to the Kobold, opening the claws to reveal a small but well-formed pearl, probably worth about 10g. "You did that on purpose... I know you did."

The Sage chuckled

"We still have to get to the Crypt. Do we want to stay here a while?I can rest and prepare spells, the rest of you can get to know eachother. Alternatively, I have enough spells that we need not worry about my becoming magically barren anytime soon, so we could go in and brave it's dangers"

Tormenta who had decided to lie back down and heal in the sunlight rased one arm and voiced his opinion "I would personally like to recover from that last little scrape."

Caden snapped his fingers, and his bow dissapeared...walking over and sitting down near everyone else.

"So how do you all know eachother? And where do you call home?"

"I myself havent had the same place to call home in a very long time, I hope that changes some day soon. I am tired of searching for my past, I want to finaly find a family I can call my own."

"Reputation," Jernei snerked, her head turning to look at Caden, "can sometimes be as deceiving as looks." She reared up on her hindlegs, balancing there for a long second...

... and there was a flash of light from her front claw, visible far more clearly to magesight than to normal, as her body shifted, wings retreating, neck shortening, face flattening, and then all that was there was a lovely young SeaElf, clad in drow-made chain. She ran a bronze-tinged hand through her green-tinged hair, both near exact shades of the bronze dragon's scales and neck fringe. "I am called Jernei Seafoam. My home would mean little to you, but I live currently on the SwordCoast. This," she indictated the gold-scaled Kobold with a wave of her hand. "is Blackclaw, Chosen of Bahumet and clanleader. I met him some years ago, and he's been my companion off and on since then."

*nod* I am pleased to meet you, and I have to say I am a bit suprized and pleased to see......the dragon is an elf.

But I hope that everyones reputations, and intentions, are not as deciving as some of the abilites and.....looks of such fine and generous people.
