#1 Anyone ever play Prime Directive?

It's a Star Trek rpg set in the Starfleet Universe (for those of you that don't know what this or Starfleet Battles is, think if TOS was the only 'canon' around but with slight changes, and a game was made of it). I'm interested in it, there's apparently two new versions around, one for GURPS and the other for D20 (3.5 ed I believe), with a D6 version planned I think (the original game was originally D6).

I saw it one day and was to broke to buy it! Saddly when I had money, it was gone...
I did read their Klingon Empire book and really liked it. I like my Klingon idea better of course but theirs is really well done. There are more species in the Empire! Multiple religions! Depth! There's depth!

You can order it online. I am wondering whether to do it. GURPS has the better cover art, but the internal fluff is identical to the d20 version.
I like the idea of 'prime teams' as well. Makes me want to run a game where the players are specialist members of an away team given challenging assignments.
I did read their Klingon Empire book and really liked it. I like my Klingon idea better of course but theirs is really well done. There are more species in the Empire! Multiple religions! Depth! There's depth!
Incidentally, I am half-way through reading The Final Reflection by John Ford. His take on the Klingons is nothing short of brilliant. Better than the hirsute viking-wannabes that characterise the TNG era.

The Final Reflection is pure awesome. FASA's Trek RPG in the 80s was so-so, but their Klingons were based on Ford's work.

i wish it was easier to read though
i don't know why, but getting through this book has been hard
that may not be ford's fault though, i might not be in the best frame of mind to read atm (i've been reading at night right before bed and sleepiness has prevented me from progressing quickly)

It's a comparatively short book, but it's pretty dense with meaning. You have to read between the lines in a lot of places to get everything. Processing multilevel conversations isn't the easiest thing to do when sleepy.
