#1 Vampire is sooooo Fun

Post by Cynical Cat »

So I'm alternating running Vampire with Dark Heresy for my table top boys and girl on the weekend. Last night we were doing Vampire, Sabbat pack, 1977 (there will be time jumps). New characters introduced last session due to fatalities.

There's some goofing around and general initiatory nonsense continues until about mid session, when they get hard into breaking the new boys in. They head from Detroit to Cleveland, which is Camarilla territory, to bust a head or heads and see what the new folks are made of.

They hit a semi-underground night club and pall around, seeing if anyone pays much attention to them. A dude does, but he's just a bisexual noticing the Charisma/Appearance whore. They ease in, think about hunting.

Malkavian boy decides to Auspex two handsome dudes in a booth with a small harem between them. They read as shapeshifters. Specifically Glasswalkers+ Garou animal magnetism + good looks + money+ Persuasion=neck deep in women of easy virtue. He declines to share their shapechangerness with the rest of the Pack.

They notice that he's paying attention to the harem and eyeball them some, but don't notice anything specifically. The Garou aren't interested in anything but 70s decadence. Malkavian says that there might be something up with these guys. Lasombra boy heads over to a shadowy corner and summons shadows around him, effectively becoming invisible.

The other players get up to go out. Ventrue-Antitribu boy walks up to a bouncer who is packing. Ventrue is total social monsters, with Presence and Dominate and the attributes and abilities to monstrously good at both Disciplines. He tells one of the bouncers to go over and shoot a Garou boy in the head.

Bouncer goes over, draws his .45, and click. Other Garou jams technology. They go Crinos and tear off his head. Table gets thrown across the room as they know someone supernatural is fucking with them. Everyone starts heading for the exit as the Delirium hits like a hammer and vampires go bye-bye.

This includes Lasombra boy, who is still wrapping himself with shadow, but no longer in a dark corner. This is, of course, a huge fucking flag to the Garou.

They give chase, only partially slowed by the crowd. Lasombra boy runs after Malkavian boy. Gangrel, Assamite and Ventrue run the other direction. Malkavian boy stops at the car and gets in. Garou comes through the front windshield after him and Malky goes out the side door.

Lasombra boy fails to outrun a Garou and gets his head torn off. Malky runs on Celerity, Garou shift to Hispo and pursue. Malky heads for a busy street in an attempt to do the "dive on moving vehicle" and escape maneuver. He doesn't roll well. He bounces off a car's grill and the Garou pull him out of the street and tear out his heart.

Actually, this is why a Storyteller never gives a necessary plot hook to Freakboy. Because it won't get from him to the rest of the party unchanged.

Yes. The GM should always know better than to only give necessary plot hooks to the Malkavian.

It's not just when he's playing Malkavians . . .
