That's all well and good Firewalker, but the issue is you min-maxing out a power character. You can feel a character out just as well without a battery of weapons than you can with one. Your character gives the impression of trying to outmuscle the other characters. I'm not as concerned about this, given what I play, but you need to define a role for yourself to play in terms of the group RPwise, not defer that until after the character is completed.

Jason's new character aside - Charon, Nitram, (or Agent Fisher), it's on you.

I'm always sorry to do this....

but I am ending the Transformers game as of today.

My apologies to all of you, but for the past several months I've been all but forcing myself to make posts to keep the game going for ya'll....and I can;t do it anymore. I lost the flair for the story...and it's not fair for the rest of you to have a GM who can't put in the same effort the rest of you are.

Since I have a game that's just started running....I won't be starting a new TF game soon....but I will fiddle with a new setting for later, should any of you consider wanting to play another game run by me.

Again, I apologize to all of you for this.

Until then...before you leave, I'd appreciate any input you'd have on what you;d like the next game to be setting wise....Beast Wars era perhaps? Or Great War Cybertron (Rise of MEgatron, or "Birth of Optimus Prime" style?) Or even going to before the current Great Wars, and back to before Megatron and Optimus.....

I'll take all suggestions under advisement...just..discuss it here.

I'll lock and move the current TF thread to the archive today.

Sorry Tev....

depending on what would have happened....you had the Nemesis, it was in the air, and under your control....

So yes, you would have saved NYC...Trypticon would have been sunk beneath the ocean, and the war would have turned for the Autobots and humans finally.

The end of the game would have seen Megatron and the Decepticons pushed back to Cybertron, and the Autobots fix the damage done to Earth, and move off to Cybertron's moons for the events of the 1986 Movie....

 ......... do we have to do the movie?
I mean... Rodimus.... do we -have- to go there?

You can write up a nice "we save NYC" ending, can't you? Stop there, at a high point? Please? :petrosjko:

...Shit.

I know interest was waning in this game toward now, but I was really hoping it could eventually heal and get its pace back. In any case DS, though I joined the game relatively late, this game evoked my imagination more than any other I've played on these forums, even the current ones I'm still involved with. I would personally like to thank you for starting it, and for somehow gaining enough patience to deal with my barrage of questions.

This might be pushing things a bit, but I'd like to start another TF game sometime soon - partially out of nostalgia, but also as a tribute to DS' work, and his ideas. It certainly won't be a continuation of DS' universe, as he's put far too much work into it to be anything other than his. I'd feel like I would be stomping on toes if I even borrowed a few of his ideas, to be honest. If this game begins, it'll be as a spiritual companion to his, not as a successor or even as a direct relation, apart from both being set in the TF universe.

Instead, it'll be an alt-universe of my own creation, and I'll work on fleshing it out over the weekend and the next week at work. I'll also be working on character limits for creation as well as NPC's, overall plot, metaplot, and other assorted writer-ish terms that mean "doing stuff with it."

But, my aspirations aside - thank you again DS, and thank you to all the players, past and present, who helped this game become what it was.

not I said eventually, at the end of the game.

And the movie would have played through, with the PC's, and thus could have had a different ending, thus changing alot of TF lore.

Maybe for the better, maybe for the worse.

That would be preferable. Hornet Prime would at least stop and ask a question when necessary.

Tev and I were talking yesterday, overturning DS' casual comment about "maybe in Beast Wars..." wide open for speculation. And, naturally, I got to thinking (this is your cue to take cover).

Replaying the Beast Wars with DS' changes and the PC's present would be quite intriguing, especially to see if there's a sequel that leads into something like Beast Machines done right.

I know, most of you here hated Beast Machines, but I liked many of the ideas in it, even if it didn't connect as well as I'd like. Perhaps this might be a way to correct those errors, even if for our own enjoyment.

Oh, and no Beast Machines. Beast Wars is fine, Beast Machines was a dirty trollop.

Er...

I'm not averse to the idea of migrating the PCs back to Beast Wars, but...

Well...

I just have NO idea how I would get Hornet to work back there. Are we talking about literally transporting the PCs back in time, or Beast Wars' versions of the PCs?

IF *I* do a Beast Wars game...

it will be new characters.

Literally new, new build Maximals, or Predacons (depending on which side I'm shooting for), the oldest they can be is fromt he Great Update (which is when Maximals and Predacon protoforms became standardized and the "bigguns" stopped being made.

Of course, this doesn't stop any of you from make a game and doing it your way....

I got Nitram thinking about how to format a Prime for Beast Wars

After much discussion, we came up with the best plan for an Earth-like planet :
MAMMOTH PRIME.

Larger bot-body, elephantine beast-form.

You know you wanna see it.

Awesome.

I call Haast's Eagle for mine, and the Maximal name Wingslip.

Large-sized in either form, carries two energon-coated swords (shades of Firetrack, yeah I know), and a railgun (used as artillery and heavy assault - fires only once every 2 seconds), as well as having flight capabilities in robot mode, though not as fast or as maneuverably as in his beast mode.

EDIT: Changed name and got rid of bullshit ability.

EDIT: I'm changing my idea to one that was recommended to me. An Archaeopteryx, a feathered missing link between dinosaurs and birds. Name to be determined.

I am going to do a science bot name him "Einian" (Einstien and Simian) and go as a Chimp

Cool. For some reason, I like the idea of Wingslip as a ship's engineer, particularly aboard a spacecraft. It'll also explain why he has a railgun...

He's already telling me no - this is a good sign.

How about a charged particle cannon, then?
