Are we running under the assumption that we can tweak our characters per the ink monkeys revised rules? If so, I will rebuild Yvela with the new rules.

Tweaking your characters is okay. Don't do it when we're three pages into the restart, and don't change it wholesale or in ways that totally contradict past history.

I'd rather have you post using the charsheet I posted in the other thread.

I have almost finished rereading the old game and getting enough ideas to restart the game. I think I may have a short aparté with Kolth before cinematically sending Ake and Lyiana away, and getting the game back on its tracks.

Are you done with character tweaking?

Also Marcao, it seems to me you asked one day about the Past Lives Merit, only at the time Scroll of Heroes wasn't out. While the book's mechanical value is in doubt, if you want I'll be amenable to you putting a few bonus points in this one.

I am basically finished with the character, except that I have not looked at the scroll of kings. To see if I understand things correctly scroll of errata says 18 bonus points baseline, nomad says +6 to that number (24 bps) and we get to keep our existing earned totals during the previous adventure?

One day, he met who would become his Sifu - a taciturn Night caste named Melia Sunshadow. She and Kolth have become friends over the years, she taking him under her wing to avoid the Wyld Hunts, and according to her, "give you a better chance the first few years after your Second Breath than I did."

It is from her that he learned several of the tricks, Charms, and points of view from, as well as the beginnings of the Ebon Shadow martial art. She has subtly hinted that it might not be the last he'll learn. It was from her that he got the idea to become employed as a courier for Lookshy, which gave him more than enough money to handle his basic needs (as well as his Bracers and his Chain Daiklaive). And it was from her that he was able to more fully understand himself in a way he was never able to before. They remain friends and sometimes lovers to this day, though he as always suspects that she knows much more than she lets on.

I saw Ebon Shadow more as Kolth's style, but then Tiger style is fine if you like to strike from ambush.

I ended up looking at it this way - he'll have both eventually. I just wanted him to start with the one that most fits his personality now, which is definitely Tiger. Later on, once he's more experienced and such, having Ebon Shadow makes more sense, since it would refine what he'd know nicely.

Of course, with all that said, I wouldn't say no to Righteous Devil style eventually.

Speaking of which, I suppose that you could have met Melia Sunshadow just before the restart. She'd have been guided close to you by the vagaries of Fate, have been tracking an ally of the man Lookshy wants you to neutralize, and warned you that you had to get there quick because he migth flee sooner than expected (she'd visited his base's surroundings very quickly and seen signs of impending movement). With a thwack on the head, like a good Mentor, she sets you straight on the trail of Plot and out of the current quagmire.
(Did you start already knowing her, or would you have met her ingame? I can't remember what we agreed on right now).

Unless you players wish to finish the current Keln/Valmer secondary plot. If you pass up the opportunity now, you won't be able to prevent or undo the damage later, going by how it was originally set up, but if, for your satisfaction, you want to resolve it, I'll ditch the emergency heeding.

When we first started, Kolth already knew her - but given how she acts, the above would still work well.
