Ok, those two checks are one for the record books. That's hilarious.

Okay, the primary reason for Noxeus' decline was that he simply... was, and that scared a lot of people. He brought dreams and nightmares and his worship tended to be centred around tribal and semi-nomadic peoples who had a strong shamanistic bent to them. His general portfolio included dreams, protection, and knowledge. The primary cause of decline was that the knowledge was of a personal nature and as new peoples moved into the area the more impersonal knowledge of books and learning by scholars and wizards supplanted the shamans and sorcerers while the common folk turned to more comforting deities like St. Cuthbert and Pelor.

You know this Ophidian because the dream knocked loose a memory. The worship of Boccob amongst scholars essentially kicked out the worship of Noxeus.

You can't say much else about the statue than what you already know.

No, just simple sarcasm sufficed, that was more of an OOC comment. Too late now though that Volemack has touched the statue. You fought four creatures and had four points of wisdom drain. Volemack has six.

...shit.

Hey, can Ophidian and Fehl both share the use of the Detect Thoughts spell, or would both of them have to know it?

Both would have to cast it, and I already used it for the day...

You have to cast it individually to get in. There are other ways to get in, but you either need to do research or experimentation to find out.

...Bah. I can't think of many ways a battle-caster like a Duskblade could do so, apart from with handy items he doesn't have at the moment.

Oh screw it, now that I think about it, the checks are probably high enough that I can point this out:

The statue is related to Noxeus, most definitely meant to be used by his clerics, but there is nothing to connect it directly to him as there are no symbols or the like anywhere on it and you would think that there would be at least one strange rune or sigil or what have you. If you think its a healing device, take of that what you will.

So altogether, there were the two bastard swords (non-magical), the pair of shiny bronze bracers, the two objects that were covered in grease which had turned into something wax-like over time, and one tan bag. Did I miss anything?

Bracers have a moderate conjuration aura about them and are likely protective items, very useful as such things block against incorporeal attacks, while the bag has a faint conjuration aura about it.

For Ophidian, the bracers are almost certainly lesser (+2) bracers of armour while the bag is probably a bag of tricks of some sort (it is tan coloured).
