EDIT: There may be an easier way to do this. Frigid, are there any rules concerning how one is required to divy up their IC point values? Maximum point values for types of terrain, for instance?
The only rule is that each province must be worth at least 2IP. We don't have terrain rules because this is a simple run and I don't want to deal with them.

Uhm of course you can fight in mountains and swamps, it merely offers some challenges that's all.

In that case, I need to know what we mean by "some challenges".

My presumption was that a full-scale invasion of the Andes mountains was an impracticability. If that's not true, then my analysis is off.

There is the question of how they sail the better part of the length of the continent without any bases before reaching those delta islands but otherwise I'll take it.

So if I might ask, because this is of some importance, what are the rules on fighting in non-standard terrain? Is it practicable in the slightest? Is it highly discouraged? Is it no big deal?

I see one. You're a Kingdom. Minimum is 5 provinces. You've got 4.

See, this is why I am sort of disinclined to want to give you that province in the mountains, because by my fluff my nation was in the entire mountain chain centuries before your arrival in the area, so if you wanted that territory you would have had to have had a war over it already. My nation is already pretty bitter about being displaced, especially since they had related tribes that went around the mountains instead of into them during the exodus that would have been gobbled up by your expansion into the area. Thus, fluff-wise, if you want that province then you will have had to fight a long, bitter war for it and there will be a continuing jihad over the territory to this day. As it is right now, the Amatocoya find the Romans irritating and may occasionally attempt to raid some of the immediately adjacent terrain, but are definitely much more interested in pushing east, back into the swamps and forests. Plus they tend to get clobbered on open terrain, they are used to fighting in forests or in mountains, not on flat plains.

Also, my OOB has been updated with some social structure fluff and information on the gods worshipped.

I really don't need that province, ACNut, especially if your backstory speaks to it. All I want to check is that the mountains do not make you physically immune to assault.

No, I'm not transparently planning to invade you, that's not the point. Irrespective of what your actual intentions are (if you're not lying to me, then you should be :) ), my worry, founded or not, is the notion that those mountains make you literally invulnerable to my counterassaults should that become necessary, especially since that one mountain province of yours borders four of my core provinces, all of which you can walk into any time you want.

As long as it's possible to attack into the mountains, I can at least think of a way to make this setup work. Not that I plan to do so, but we simply can't have normal relations if there's no element of deterrence, nor do I like the notion of some people having core empires that cannot be threatened by any means (which may be completely the opposite of how it is actually going to work, I don't know)

Oh yeah, I suspect that even with the mountains the best we could do would be a bitter draw if the Romans attacked full force. Its just that we both have neighbours that makes such assaults problematic for both of us. Plus the main pass out of the mountains in that region is the river that divides Rome from the Batrachians. We could probably even work out where the main passes that could allow an army out of the mountains actually even are so that its not "I hop down off my mountain wall to attack but you can't follow me back, nyah!". That's not cool. Desperate fights along narrow mountain roads or across skree covered fields or in dense forests, now that's cool. Also, I basically talked with frigid about this and I asked him if I needed to pay any extra costs for living in a mountain domain and he said that I'd already RP gimped myself enough for him, so since it is ultimately up to him to abjucate how the battles go down I will trust him not too make the mountains too big or too little a factor.

Because I feel the need to point this out, the first few paragraph of my history section should be taken with several very large grains of salt as to their truth value. These are the old myths, filled with exaggerations and half-truths. Maybe.

I go to the movies and you people go crazy. No, there is no terrian that makes you immune to attack, just like there is no "I have longbows so I win button"

Have some bloody faith people.

Let me answer alot of questions right now. Combat will work this way. Both parties post what they're doing, hopefully they're capable of being adults and working out the results between themselves. If not, I come in and only by reading the posts (so you better be utterly clear about what you're doing huh?) I determine the winner. My word is law. And may all your bloody handed gods have mercy on you if I think you're metagaming your posts. I swear, your wizards will explode with magic fairy syphilis while your spears turn into angry cobras and then I'll get mean.

The only thing gonna make you immune to defeat is good tactics and common sense. Or you know bribery, Cash money, cold booze, warm girls. I don't think y'all are gonna go that far for this though.

Unit descriptions, including those for my heroes is up.

Hávarƌr Hrolfsson will crush you under waves of angry Ogres.

Njörƌr Lokison rides a god damn sea serpent into battle.

Jórunnr Skárridottir is a screaming valkyrie that will fuck you up and steal your things.

Sidenote: To be at least somewhat kind, I will not expect people to use the special nordic letters when they make posts involving my people.

I know we're going with fluff doesn't mean much compared to how things are actually going to run. You could call your Heavy Cogs battleships and Magi will treat them the same, but Galleass' are quite a bit outside the scope of what everybody else has Norseman. That would be like me pulling out a Caravel or Carrack.

I am working today and tomorrow so will be making my final rulings on Sunday. Once I get them issued, the game will start. Klavo, Derek anyone else if you're reading, try to get something up before Sunday as I will be placing NPCs.

It's the same style, basically a larger more oceanworthy galley which thus provides a better, more stable artillery platform. I only used the word Galleass to explain the basic concept succinctly.

Larger sure, but most cogs don't get any bigger than carrying one mast. A Galleass would generally have three. That's a lot larger than everyone else has.

Unfortunately, our tech level sits on pretty much the cusp of the difference between Medieval ships, which couldn't support more than two masts and were generally low to the water, and the ships of the Age of Exploration. Which were bigger, taller, and just generally stronger. Cogs are on one side of this line, Galleass are on the other.

Frigid: I'm going to try to flesh out my OOB as much as I can between today and tomorrow, but I may have to request a extension due to work issues.

If you get on messenger, and I'm on, I'll try to discuss it with you.

Fluff is good but not required. The bare bones of your stats and army make up are. Another note, guys I would like you to start assigning IPs to your provinces. Use pictures, it's a simple copy paste after all.

ACtually someone raised an important issue, just how big is this continent? I may change my furthermost provinces before the finalization if the continent should be bigger than I think it is. I don't want to munchkin or anything, I just want to make sure that my merchantile state isn't spread out further than I think it is.

Bigger then Europe, smaller then Africa or Asia. Beyond that, it was never discussed.
