Name: Shackle
Affliation: None
Classification: Bounty Hunter / Triple Changer
Size: 8m

Alternate Mode(s): 1969 Dodge "Super" Charger / Cybertronian Helicoptor

Background:
When war broke forth on Cybertron, most Cybertronian aligned with either the Autobots or the Decepticons out of a need for survival. Some others joined neither faction, swearing alligience to neither Optimus Prime nor Megatron.

Shackle was one such Mech. He worked in the High Security Block of the Decagon Prison, holding some of the most deranged and dangerous Mechanoids on Cybertron, and he relished the chance to "discipline" his wards. He took a particular delight in hunting down those who attempted escape from his prison even more so.

When Megatron's minions came to the Decagon, looking to raid for more recruits, Shackle sold the Decepticons some of the worst offenders and thugs under his ward, pocketing the energon chips with a smile of his faceplate. He decided at that point, with war breaking out all over the planet, he'd be better off making his own way, then being apart of any army. He has spent the entire war as a mercenary for hire, with occassional bits of bounty hunting - not caring what the job is, or who it is for, as long as the price (in Energon and Upgrades) was right.

Personality:
Amoral is the best term to describe Shackle. He doesn't care for your politics, or your ethics, or your objective - as long as the price is right in Energon or Upgrades. Though he does have some professional ethos of his own - once his loyalty is purchased, it is bought until the mission is finished.

Special Systems:
Triple Changer - Capable of swapping between two alternate modes, and his primary Mech mode at twice the speed of a normal Transformer.

Afterburner - a afterburner capable for short bursts of additional speed in both car and helo modes.

Flight - Shackle is Capable of self-propelled flight in Mech mode, thanks to upgrades he's obtained from Decepticons.

Weaponry:
Energo Sword - a Cybertronian broadsword whose blade can be charged with energon to increased the effectiveness against armor, and increase damage to exposed systems it strikes.

2x Ion Rifle - standard cybertronian ion-laser rifles. The gun becomes a underslung blaster in his helo-mode, giving it a limited firing arc (15° off axis from which way he is pointing). In his Car mode both weapons slide out along the sidepanels.

Missile Pods (Helo Mode only) - slung under his outriding wings in helo mode, these rapid fire missile pods are only usable in his helicoptor alt-mode, and can fire unguided rockets which can be equipped with various warheads (EMP, Napalm, Conventional, Chemical, etc). The pods have a 20 missile capacity, and Shackle holds a additional 60 in subspace reserve.

No to bolded. You do not get to have 60 Nuclear missiles.

Personally, I would prefer teaming up with a character who has a little more loyalty than just to coin, so as to limit infighting. Not saying he should be a paragon of virtue, but maybe loyal enough to not immediately stab the rest of the party in the back when the opposition offers him a bigger paycheck.

Removed the nuclear missiles, I was just listing off various missile types seeing as I put the character together in five minutes.

Modified the sheet some, including the concern about loyalty. Once you meet his fee, he's your Mech until the job is done.

Not approved. He's too unreliable.

To expand, the PCs are not likely to be the highest bidders in terms of upgrades and energon for the duration of the campaign. There are other parties who would be happy to pay him rich bounties, but they aren't going to be the PC's friends. If you want to play him DS you have to give him a current motivation that's more than just money.

And so it starts.

In what location is our merry band of misfits starting out?

I think that was rather obvious.

Well, I now see your second post. Are we all on the same ship as Breakout, waking up at the same time?

I am assuming here that not only have all of Hornet's removable weapons been removed, but that his built-in laser blasters have been disabled through removal of a vital component.

I'm further assuming this was somehow done without damage to his frame. I'm all for taking the consequences of Hornet's actions, but I'd rather not start the game with him irreparably broken.

Laser blasters were entirely removed. Hornet maybe experimental tech, but laser blasters are not. Damage to Hornet was minor.

Laser blasters are not experimental tech, but Hornet's are rather unique, size-wise if nothing else. I suppose we'll see what happens.

And now, Shimmer gets to learn why one does NOT ask Hornet to do something by himself.

Hey, Charon... Rheonix and I were talking, and thinking you, me, and him all got jumped at your place. What do you think?

Was the weasel good enough to get me running or am I still an inert hunk of alloy and circuits?

Note to players: with CynCat's okay, I have changed my character's alt. mode from a SR-71 Blackbird to a Su-47 Golden Eagle. No other changes have been made.

As a small continuity note, there were Autobot Cassette-Bots, and an Autobot version of Soundwave (Blaster).

Hornet however is not aware of that fact, and associates Casseticons with Decepticons.

Character Name: Overhaul
Affiliation: Autobot
Classification: Heavy Close Combat, Support

Alt Mode: Semi Tow Truck (TOWLINE not to scale, head and color scheme are not to model)
Speed: 150 mph (Unloaded), Cruising 70 mph
Size: 11 meters

Background: Before the war, Overhaul was a first responder to emergencies on Cybertron, and in his spare time, he enjoyed tinkering with things that most people overlooked. He is not a scientist or an inventor, but rather someone who simply enjoyed figuring out how things worked. When the war broke out, Overhaul tried for a long time to stay out of the conflict, hoping that it would get resolved quickly, but ultimately his conscience got the best of him when a Decepticon targeted a medical team trying to save critically injured civilians in the aftermath of a major battle. Taking matters into his own hands, Overhaul beat the Decepticon into scrap. As he did this, the Decepticon’s allies arrived, at which point Overhaul took the fallen bot’s weapon and used it to fight off the reinforcements long enough for Autobot support to show up to reports of the battle restarting without the main forces engaged. When the first Autobot patrol arrived, Overhaul was badly damaged and no longer wielded the stolen Decepticon rifle, which was sticking into the chest of one of the combatants, but instead was weilding one of the smaller Decepticon soldiers with the aid of his TOWLINE.

While he needed to be carried back to base himself, since then Overhaul has been a loyal autobot and has served with distinction in many battles. Stranded on Earth along with numerous other Transformers while in stasis lock on board the Ark, after a battle with Trypticon that had gone poorly. Overhaul grew quite fond of the world, particularly of the “mechanicsâ€
