Good idea - I was about to ask that same question myself. Due to the fact that my character sheet is huge, I'll probably put it in there anyway for conciseness' sake.

Incidentally, the name only came when I was stuck for one, and then looked at the screen. And the Netherese seem to have had their (small) share of classic-esque names.

Paimon and Tenebrous bound for this meeting. Let's see if I made good pacts with them today.

Wait... nevermind. My binder check is 10 for my level + 6 for my charisma + 4 for skilled pact making so anything with a pact DC of 21 or less is automatic. And the DCs are 20 and 21 respectively. Yeah!

I'll post now and then PM you a full character sheet (it'll be the same as already posted but its so much easier to find as a PM) and then a bit of a write up on the character's background.

Alright - for grand entrances. How would our characters (mine in particular, as he would be a traveler/adventurer) have come to this city? Is there an invitation of some sort, or is that up to us to write out individually as our character's reason for journeying to this city, at this time?

It's a prestige class from Tome of Magic. Basically can make cool counterspells and draw some energy back from a counterspelling effort. And it progresses simultaneously in shadowcasting and arcane casting.

You'd probably have been pointed to a semi-permanant teleportation circle by whoever recruited you (unless you're a native of the city, of course) to get there. They'd probably be in various sites around Anauroch, but one could be briefly created in other areas, if getting there isn't practical for your character. (More details on this particular mode of travel in play).

On second thought, a Wiz5/Shadow Adept5 is just as fun (from the Player's Guide to Faerun). Can I use Shar as my patron deity for the Shadow Weave Magic feat, or will I have to get Wisdom 15?

Background-wise, I envision him like a native Shadovar (hence the Spellwise regional feat), noted by the Determinist tests as having a great potential for arcane magic. A patriot and worshipper of Shar, he quickly rose into the ranks, and will probably soon undertake the transformation that should make him into a shade, the city's true rulers.
Politically, I envision him as close to the Princes Vattick, Mattick, and Brennus, a scholar eager to gather ancient Netherese lore to help the City of Shade to prosper and overcome its enemies (that is, everyone else).

Tell me if there is anything to correct.

Alright, just since this came up (and since I haven't picked my character's extra languages yet), what good common languages would you recommend, seeing as I'm not familiar much with Forgotten Realms?
