Avenge me!

Not that I'm dead or anything, but my dignity is wounded. The god damn Borg just flew right through my beautiful ship.

You might be able to re-emerge from phase cloak inside someone's shields - even the Gilgamesh, if I stretch the shield radius a bit.

But you have to let people know first. ;)

Okay, thanks for the input guys! It's settled: Ishtar Charvanek looks a whole lot like her mother Liviana. Should note that technically, the uniform and hair in both pictures is not Romulan regulation by TNG and later standards, but TNG Romulans are boring and can go fuck themselves.

So without further ado...

Well despite the fact that you only invited the gentlemen, I looked anyway.

Very thorough. This is gonna be fun.

Yeah, next issue. But first I do believe I'm going to test the Shirazi Maneuver.

Well, 'a' Shirazi Maneuver.

Which probably won't work, but if it doesn't it'll be kind of hilarious in the failure.

Uh-oh. Marcao, I do believe it's official now - you have competition in the Romulan Shenanigans department from more than just the Gilgamesh's crew.

You know what really gets me about that write-up? The little 1-2 paragraph crew bios are way more effective at conveying character than the gigantic nine paragraph abomination dedicated to Ishtar, and were in total much easier to write. On the other hand, i've been out of practice with writing, so perhaps i needed to indulge a bit before regaining the ability to say a lot with a little.

I hear you there.

For another note of drama, my ship's pilot, Arichu Nevola (aka Swift) is Galen Cretak's niece. So, this could end up even more hilarious.

Are all the bloody Romulans related in this fleet?

You know how the Tal Shiar is, one big happy family. It was Ishtar's father who founded it, after all! He forged it out of the prior intelligence agency, kind of like how the KGB was formed out of the MGB in the Soviet Union, because the Tal Shiar is pretty much the space KGB. For other Soviet analogies, the Tal Diann is GRU, and Romulan Security is the MVD. Like they're pretty much all exact equivalents.

Wasn't it the Klingons who were supposed to be the Space Soviets? They must have lost that analogy somewhere along the way.

In Marcao's and my defense, this came out of a long discussion he and I had out of character, and the storyline potential those things had.

Adding Lys to the mix should prove interesting, I'd say.

The point of relation between Ishtar Charvanek and Galan Cretak is that Ishtar's younger brother married one of Galan's older sisters. The idea came into being to facilitate two lines of dialogue, and i cleared it with Marcao a few days ago. So depending on who exactly are Swift's parents, it's entirely possible for her to be the niece of both of them. Though, if Nevola is her real family name, that means Nevola was her mother's surname, which rules out Cretak's sisters, and thus any blood relation to Ishtar. (Rihannsu are matrilinial)

Weee, first IC post!

Um... presumably it's okay if the Khanjar met the El-Aurian pirate and his Orion Syndicate fleet some time before the rest of the players did? Presumably it's okay that said meeting did not result in gunfire? If Havoc is down with this then he should totally PM me because i have a brilliant idea.

Also, Isthar does not have a drinking problem. Khanjar's replicators can make vast quantities of top notch Romulan Ale, and she has no problem at all getting it or drinking it.

Just bear in mind your personal responsibility for leaving the thread there for us, so innocent, so vulnerable, so corruptible.

Okay, Lys, I need some sense of how exactly you know about Saehir, and the little fleet of Shodar Tyran's. I also am afraid that unless those sphere contacts of yours are actually just subspace shadows produced by the reflections of the badlands, you cannot possibly see the Borg Spheres within the badlands, for reasons I cannot presently reveal. I don't mind if you pick up weapons fire, the subspace wakes of passing ships, spot the Borg as they enter the badlands, or even detect the two Exterminators presently banging away with Tachyons, but those Spheres are currently beyond your ability to detect, particularly under cloak while in the middle of this place.

That works for me! All i wanted was to detect the Borg and get closer to them from one angle, while the rest of the players approach from another. Post edited accordingly. Khanjar was outside the Badlands and is following the spheres in.

It sure would be convenient if Khanjar were to show up behind that sphere attacking the poor Gilgamesh. Alas it's not in my hands, in fact nothing is in my hands at present, probably because our illustrious game master is busy mulling over my crazy-ass ideas. This is the problem with having crazy in combination with ideas, takes longer to deal with than straightforward stuff. Just hope Havoc's not going "The fuck is this!?" and shaking his head...
