I'll have to post later, work today. And remember I've got 2 12 hour shifts on the weekend now.

After talking to some folks I feel I need to make this note: What you call your shooty ray gun of death, doesn't really impact on me, it's a shooty ray gun of death. For example, when Starscream shot someone, I didn't notice much of a difference then from when Soundwave shot someone or when Jazz shot someone. So pretty much all your guns work alike. Now some of you have bigger badder guns. Grindstone and Caviler for example, they pay for that by not having super powers. Their gun is a super power. Everyone reading me?

I get what you mean, but horrible example since Starscream sometimes used his Null Rays and they had the specific effect of shutting down someone's metal ass.frigidmagi wrote:After talking to some folks I feel I need to make this note: What you call your shooty ray gun of death, doesn't really impact on me, it's a shooty ray gun of death. So how are you going to handle the Null Rays? They're Starscream's special power and consistently shown to be system disruption weapons in multiple media. Nitram's air form weapon load out is dual rotary Null Ray cannons so this does matter. Are you going to keep them as say "good guns, more emphasis on system disruption than raw damage" and say that Starscream's are notable because he has a really good version or something else?

It's not that I'm unforgiving, it's that most of the people who wrong me are unrepentant assholes.

It appears to me that SirNitram's first game post continues where his character post left off: "Shunt exhausted the crystals he had hoarded, and flew through an electrical storm just to boost his reserves to make the jump towards the League Of Free Sapients." And now he's arriving with no fuel.frigidmagi wrote:Besides folks with you being summoned to Breakout's office, that means you should already be on the bloody planet.

Sorry if this is a little heavy for so early in the game, it just popped into my head. General Havoc can feel free to not bite into the hook when the time comes. It really could have just been someone with a passing resemblance to Cavalier. While the mercenary fleet could have just been blasted by any of a number of enemies they might have made over their careers.

I'm certainly not Havoc, but I've no problem with additional backstory and such. In fact, CynicalCat and I have worked a bit in a similar fashion, though we'll see how it plays out in character.Lys wrote:Sorry if this is a little heavy for so early in the game, it just popped into my head. The one nitpick I could offer was that instead of "Acts of God," you may want to use "Acts of Primus."

You can't seriously expect me to take a hook like that and not use it, now can you? :)
I'm going to go with the assumption at this time that Cavalier probably just doesn't recognize Blastcap offhand. From what you're describing, the situation was more than a little chaotic, not to mention quite a while ago. Once she actually mentions something about Axis to him, it will begin to ring bells.

Hee, I was just a little overworried that you wouldn't want someone else putting Cavalier in a situation you had no pictured him in. I thought I read and depicted his character right: trying to save as many people as possible before even thinking of escaping himself. But I left a way out in case you didn't like it. I guess it's just my inexperience.General Havoc wrote:You can't seriously expect me to take a hook like that and not use it, now can you? :)

So, just out of curiousity, was Shimmer the Spy in on the verification and info gathering on the GWA?

Notice: I have made a small cosmetic edit to Blastcap. Instead of firing neutron beams and going "pew! pew! pew!" her autocannon will now fire shells and go "boom! boom! boom!" It fits her character better.

I'd been planning to have Blastcap point to Cavalier and say, "I nominate the boy scout." But it didn't really work with the flow of the story. Too bad, it was an amusing line.
You might notice that Blastcap does not use the word "Decepticon" to refer to the GDE. At most she acknowledges that there is a D in the initialisim. This is not a coincidence.

Name: Shellshock
Affiliation: Autobots
Role: Artillery and Communications
Quote: "I've got a job to do."
Appearance
Shellshock is tall for a Transformer, towering over many, though not all. Red optics are the clearest sign of his Decepticon past. His body is thick with armor, mostly light gray in color, with no visor over his optics or mask over his mouth. A massive single barreled cannon sits on his right forearm.
Alternate Form
Shellshock can transform into an artillery platform that is stationary. While in his alternate form, Shellshock has a powerful cannon that can fire plasma shells that are capable of devastating an area. He also has two anti-personnel auto-guns used for personal defense as he is incapable of moving.
History
Shellshock originally joined the Decepticons, but as talk of subjugating the "lesser" races grew, he became more and more disenfranchised with his choice. When Optimus Prime made a name for himself, Shellshock defected to the Autobots. The old warbot immediately latched onto Prime's ideals, especially that freedom was the right of all sentient beings. The war grew bloodier, and messier, and eventually it became clear that both sides were going to lose. Once Optimus disappeared, Shellshock didn't have any reason to stick around any more and he was one of the first who fled to the stars.
Out among the other races, Shellshock quickly made a name for himself as a defender of the weak, a 'bot who put his all into defending others against those who would exploit them, be they Autobot or Decepticon. He spent millenia at this as the war slowly spread and changed. He did what he could to keep his little section of space clear of the war, but eventually it grew too much for him and facing down ten Decepticons, Shellshock sent out a distress call and prepared to make his last stand.
It was a long and bloody fight that destroyed a huge swath of territory in the midst of the fighting, but at the end, 6 Decepticons had surrounded the broken, leaking body of Shellshock, who was barely functioning. That was when the Angels of Death arrived. Farshot, Cavalier, Breakout, and his team had heard the distress call and had moved to help. They fell like avenging furies upon the Decepticons while Shellshock was dragged away, and what was left of the battle was done with quickly.
Since then, Shellshock has allied himself with Breakout. Going out on diplomatic missions occasionally, considering his wealth of experience with the other species of the galaxy. Though occasionally when they need a big gun, Shellshock is called out for that too.
Abilities/Armament
Plasma Cannon- The enormous gun on Shellshock's arm, and the main cannon in his alt-form. The Plasma cannon fires out shells of immensely hot plasma. As these are shells, Shellshock is capable of arcing his shot over obstructions. The gun itself is incredibly powerful, but that's what's expected of artillery.
Anti-personnel Auto-guns- These smaller guns are only available to Shellshock in his alt-form. They are rapid fire laser weapons meant to take out infantry and light armor.
"Big ol' Gun"- Because one can never have too much gun, Shellshock carries around the same gun he's had since he joined the war. It's a little on the weaker side for it's size, but as it's a pretty big gun she still packs a punch. She's also durable as hell, able to take a lickin' and keep on tickin'.
Advanced Sensor/Communication Suite- Having a big gun doesn't mean much if you can't actually use it to hit targets that are far off. Shellshock's Sensor suite means that if there's something to see within range, he's got pretty good odds on seeing it unless it's doing a good job of keeping hidden. His communication suite makes certain that he can keep in contact with his allies even when he is on long-range fire duty.
Doesn't Stay Down- Shellshock is one tough son of a bitch. Either that or he has yet to learn to stay down when he's injured. Shellshock has been known to absorb more damage than many his size can and keep on fighting, though most medics insist it has more to do with his stupid refusal to go down than vastly superior armor.

1. Why a stationary-only bot? Why not a SPG?
2. I'm down for Farshot being one of the ones who answered the call, and it being the first occasion that he'd met Breakout as well.

Okay, Nitram, are you just now showing up in the League for the first time? Because if you are, you're not getting sent up into Breakout's office in 10 minutes. That's like rushing an unvetted recruit (one known to have relatives in Al Qeada no less) into the Pentagon. If you're returning from a mission or something that would be more doable.

Because Self-propelled is by necessity a smaller gun and Shellshock was always meant to be Stationary artillery, or at least difficult to move artillery. Honestly I might give him another auto-gun to defend himself a bit better.rhoenix wrote:Charon:

Also it gives him a better reason for having the advanced communication set-up. When he's 20 klicks away dropping pain on things he'll still be able to communicate with the group or relay messages between 'bots.
There have been a few offers. :)2. I'm down for Farshot being one of the ones who answered the call, and it being the first occasion that he'd met Breakout as well.

In that case, I can redact it. At most, Shunt would have made contact, but that's it.
