As promised (it's still Friday where I am!) I have started up the main game thread. Interested parties still not in will have until about Sunday to get in a character description, the rest of you may post your thoughts aboard the plane.

Nadezhda Smith (Melnik)

Born in Vladivostok in 1991, Nadya was adopted by American parents after the 1998 crisis.

However, her relationship with her parents were far from ideal. Nadya first ran away from home at 14, and kept leaving her home on and off until her 16th birthday when she became an emancipated minor by mutual agreement.

Nadya started working a variety of odd jobs to support herself financially as soon as she was physically able to. By chance, she was discovered by a talent scout and entered catalog modeling. She utterly despises the fashion industry and her colleagues, but feels that she cannot abandon an opportunity to earn 40k a year working part-time, while concentrating on her studies.

She is currently in her freshman year at Columbia university (or finished it, depending on the timing), planning to major in biology. She had passed on several decent modelling gigs to take this trip to Costa Rica, to get as far away from the world and people as possible.

Have a very nice day.

Just a quick announcement: I will be AFK july 20th-30th, although I might pop in from time to time for a quck post. Consider my character knocked out or something if I don't show up.

Have a very nice day.

I think we can work around those conditions.

So, there's a hole in the plane?

Being relatively new to RPGs, we can add details such as this to the story?

No, the burst of wind shook the plane. Sorry if I wasn't clear. The plane is not going down until AN says it's going down.

Have a very nice day.

You can all assume you're walking wounded. The other passengers and crew... not so much. Also, fgalkin gets a star for that little bit.

Nadya's injuries:

A small gash on her forehead
A mild concussion
A big bruise on her stomach where the belt buckle was
Assorted other scrapes and bruises

Plus, of course, she's pinned inside the wreckage and needs to be rescued. Any knights in shining armor in the party?

Have a very nice day.

My armour is a bit tarnished, but it'll have to do.

Now this is what I like to see. I got away for eight hours and come back to a burst of plot spontaneously created by the players. Very nice. I've noted this down for both fgalkin and CynCat, I'll figure out a nice reward for you two later.

I think I'll let this play out a little bit longer, wait for you guys to get outside the plane before I give you your next bit of description.

So, uh, CynCat's character just completely ignored Soontir's in favor of looting some bags and running away? Wow, that's heroic

Also, point of curiousity: would the rain really decrease the temperature that much? Unless we're high up on the mountains, which we might well be, for all I know, the air temperature should be in the 80s or 70s Farenheit range. :???:

Have a very nice day.

Soo...I suppose I should rewrite my last line since it doesn't make sense either way now.

Yea, thanks for making me a creepster, fgalkin. :leghump:

No, keep it in. It's funner that way, I think.

And, well, your whole character description is how he spends all his time in his driver compartment and gave up on the hope of finding love. He has a Russian model on the plane, would he REALLY be able to resist sneaking glances at her?

Have a very nice day.

 Alas no, but now the implication and possibility is spoken, my character may truly become a creepy guy. :P Hmmm *stroke beard*.

Overweight, pallid skin, the typical Basement Nerd, except this one a product of TRAINZ?

You'll see that in a description, oh yes you will.

There ARE? Where? I take the train every day, and I've yet to meet one.

EDIT: So, waiting for Losonti and Soontir to react, and then all three of us will hopefully join CynCat outside and RUN FOR COVER.

Have a very nice day.

Somehow I missed Soontir's post. My bad. I was, however, looting to try and help dying NPC and insure the rest of group had supplies.

So, folks, I'm in Jamaica (yes, mon). The internet here is very crappy and is often out for hours. So, don't be surprised if I don't pop in to post every day and just try to carry on with out me. I should return to my regular posting habits by the end of next week.

Have a very nice day.

The camp is completely and utterly abandoned as far as you can tell from searching the sleeping tents, the mess tent, and the command tent. You can describe what you find or describe looking for clues as to what happened here so I can fill you in, but don't describe anything about the last tent.

Also, fgalkin, if you still expect to be away from your computer for an extended time here, it would probably be a good idea to trip or something and get knocked out. Of course, things might be slow enough that you can get by conscious.

I'll see how the game goes- if it's something like a post a day, I can probably manage that relatively well. Still, I'll think of something, just in case.

Have a very nice day.

Is there a refrigerator? I've been in field camps a lot less fancy than this that had ice chests and refrigerators.

There is one, but it seems to have been unplugged a few days ago and the contents removed.

EDIT: Also, the first aid kit for the mess tent was removed, someone seems to have been looking for it in a panic and then ran off with it.
