Thank you, Cat... but there's a reason why I went with the standard Hoyle Poker Cards and the Gypsy Magic reads for them. She'll use the Imperial Cards for the Important Shit.

Edit: The link doesn't give the MEANINGS of the cards they list, anyway

There isn't a meaning because they actually tell the future. The cards represent symbolic positions, thus the daemon card is a power, evil entity of malice. The cards are also made with a psionic matrix, their appearance shifts in the hands of a capable diviner. Thus an Inquisitor might appear as the High Priest and the card would wear his face and be opposed by a Heretic wearing the face of a cult leader and the Daemon wearing the face of a Daemon Prince.

No. Never seen one. You're allowed to make shit up when doing a reading, because the card shifts. Psychoactive and that.

You don't have that skill yet, by the way.

*sigh*

So... can I have the quirk of reciting the ancient meanings of Hoyle's Official Playing Cards (plastic coated) or not?

Sure you can. Just don't call them the Imperial Tarot.

At no point did I do so. *confuzzled* I've stated that I'd save the Imperial Tarot for the Important Things. Whatever she's said so far hasn't been important enough to call on the Emperor's Wisdom.

Everyone is getting paid, so collect your standard pay. You have three days to do things aboard the ship.

So... are psykers supposed to look poor and raggedy, or can she take a little of her pay to get a nicer set of clothing? On a feudal world, looks are important.

You can look however you want. You're not going to get rid of your sanctioning mark if you have nice clothes, after all. If you look at the guy on page 74, he looks modestly good, all things considered.

Some things I've heard really make pyskers out as second-class citizens, with overtones of Germanic Jew in 1930s. So, I'm being cautious how I have her act and dress

Psykers have a dangerous, but valuable talent. Sanctioned Psykers have had their talent trained and harnessed. Starting rank for psykers is shmuck student, not honoured scholar, which explains the clothes. A large number of Inquisitors are psykers, and of course you are adeptus. Your potential social rank is high, but the Imperium encourages witch fears to make sure every psyker is reported.

So, I could go up from 'ragged beggar' to 'poor college student' in my clothing choices?

That's not what I said. I said they have been a poor student. How you spend your money is your business.

Since the GM has jumped things forward, shall we assume we purchased everything we needed to purchase?

No, you purchased what you purchased. No one posted since Sunday so I jumped you forward. There are two more days until planetfall so you still have time if you want to make additional purchases, but you better make use of it.

Hey! I was buying things! I was waiting for Hotfoot to post his purchase so I could drag him to the next store!

Just because no one else was posting doesn't mean Hotfoot and I were done!

I specifically told you the heavier one was shorter. You still have two days to pick it up if you want it.

Wonderful, it's "shorter". Is that going to be mechanically significant, or is it fluff? Since we went through the trouble of actually doing the full stats for this, I assumed we were playing with the rules, rolls and all. If that is not the case, fine, I will adjust accordingly.

However, I made a post to which there was not even a token reply from the spacer. Now I know I'm guilty of this sort of thing from time to time myself, so I'm not going to push too hard on it, but it would have been nice to have gotten back even a token reply. If we're going to make the effort to RP out each purchase in detail, then it would be nice to get a response.

It's cool, I can roll with it and get the stuff later if you want to flash forward past the afternoon shopping.

Sorry. I'm dropping out. I just don't have the time to play the game and I can't get into the character I made.
