Oh, and for the record it's not a demon. It's not a techno-demon or a cyber-demon or anything of the sort. Think cyberpunk and Cult of the Machine, not semi- or quasi- religious based entities.

And it's not a immediate world-ending threat. You guys will have a few days before shit hits the fan in a way that requires possible meta intervention.

We don't know that. We're all cut off from our savvy Intel. I vote we drop a rock on it.

B4 you're not thinking here. Every day we wait more people will die. That's not going to be that acceptable to our characters.

You all realize Ultima will be dispatching teams to deal with this as well, right?

We can get there faster and likely are better equipped to deal. Also we cannot assume Ultima has anyone available.

One hell of a long introduction, I know. However - who will become Luminos has now made his entrance.

Wow, that was a shit-load of activity. I need to dedicate more than just my lunch hour to this it seems.

Anyways. As far as criminality goes, I made a hero. He got vaporized. I'm planning on a slightly Robin Hoodish figure, taking jobs that he can morally agree with. Corporate sabotage against companies he thinks need to be knocked down a peg. Smuggling supplies to people who need them. Not that I was going to make the moral aspect obvious. You know, leave room for some internal monologue and character growth. He'd be trying his best to appear all business, but since you called me on it, well, there you go.

As far as conventional firearms, grenade launchers and miniguns are good for leveling hapless minions. Dragging people to Null Space and hitting them with literally whatever he can think of would be better for bosses. Or using stacked portals (dragging them in and back out again) to move them somewhere hazardous. Like eighty feet straight up, or into the gears of some big industrial equipment.

And I'd rather have someone volunteer to help bring in a character than just saying "Hey you. I know you." As it stands, I could make him someone Grav met during his dimension-hopping days, but I would need a way to bring him to this dimension. I could make him an old business acquaintence of Argent, but Tev already seems like a kind of lynch-pin character, and she probably doesn't need another person to deal with. I can make him a member of Ultima, since they're going to show up in force during this mission, but I'd need a way to have him break with Ultima and stick with the team. He could be an old soldier buddy of Blackheart's, but Dave has changed a hell of a lot recently, and that might get tricky. or he could just be an old friend of one of the other characters, but that seems tenuous at best.

So what sounds good? I kind of like Plan Grav. Gives me lots of room, and it wouldn't be that hard to say that he tried to raid a company that was working on dimensional travel and something went wrong. Nit, any objections before I start writing?

Right now, Nitram is nearly immobile from a flu-like bug. Plan Grav might be a bad idea.

Plan Argent... well... as a 'Robin Hood' it might work, and I can always claim you were her deceased partner's lover (well.. one of them. Hope you like B&D/S&M, or you were her rare taste of Vanilla). However, that will taint you with Argent's past, which Blackheart and Blast are still iffy about.

I think we're picking up at least one 'stray' from this mission, then. Have to re-think the bedroom arrangements..

Upstairs (rooms with own Bath):
Gold Room = Blackheart
Blue = Tachyon
(One of these might be opening up, depending on RP between Argent, Tachy, and Blackheart)

DownStairs (Sharing a bath):
Green (Twin beds)= Blast & Hotfoot
White (ok, Pastels) = Empty

Basement:
Red (Sex Dungeon) w/showercube = Gravitas

Master Bedroom = Argent (alone?)

Thank you - I stayed up entirely too late trying to get it feeling and reading right.

...I'm getting the not-so-subtle hint that pastels are in Luminos' future. Lovely. Well, as long as he can have it painted, or paint it himself, that's fine. Given his abilities, a plain white would actually be best - he could do the rainbow-on-the-walls thing.

Well, the walls, floor, and ceiling are white. The furniture, bedspread, curtains, etc, are all a very pastel, muted rainbow. Rather like looking at a pearl, or an opal. Just small bursts of color so it's not that monotone. The other bedrooms are the same way: the base color painted on the walls, then sympathic colors for variance and contrast in the furniture and fittings. The bathroom between the Green and White rooms has the two base colors muted into harmony.

(Is it sad that I've thought this much about an in-game house?)

Ah. Speaking for Luminos ahead of time, he should be fine with that.

Not necessarily. However, I do hope the walls around Argent's bedroom and the S&M playroom are soundproofed.

Soundproofed, yes, but Argent's a powerful Empath both sending and receiving. She's learned to mute herself, but sometimes things slip out, which is why a few of her earlier posts had a whole apartment complex waking up with a huge 'I got laid' smile on their faces.

I think the song Descent into Cerberon from the Quake II soundtrack perfectly fits what's happening here. Once I get back from class and talk with B4 a bit more, I'll make a follow-up post.

Man, you people post way too fast. Okay, Plan Grav is out, unless I want to sit around for a while. I can go Robin Hood.

Name: James Eisenherz
Pseudonym: Mr. Black

Appearance: Jim is average height, standing somewhere close to 5'10", and is in good shape. Black hair just barely long enough to stay parted and dark brown eyes make his skin look paler than it is, which is already fairly pale. No visible scars, a small mole on his forearm is his only distinguishing mark.

More: Jim has lived as a criminal for most of his adult life. Never resorting to violent crime, he has a knack for corporate crime: stealing plans, sabotaging prototypes, the like. When not infiltrating office buildings and factories, he performs smuggling runs for quick cash.

The only exceptions he has allowed himself to his personal rule regarding violent crime is the use of force during one of his "charity jobs." The first attempt to sneak food and medicines into a warzone taught him that some people are just better off dead.

Power: Null Space
James Eisenherz has access to a small, self-contained pocket dimension through opaque dorrways he can open at will. Null Space measures roughly 500 feet from edge to edge and virtually infinite in height, but because anything leaving the space reappears at the opposite edge, exact measurements are impossible. The ground is flat and hazy, indistinct at best though clearly there.

While in Null Space, anyone with the strength of will can create temporary, yet very real, objects. They are invariably the same pure black as the doorways, and more complicated creations take greater effort, but there seem to be no other limitations beyond a person's ability to create and coodinate the mental constructs.
Remember: Die angry, and leave a heavy corpse.

What is it with Black Hair?

Blackheart, Hotfoot, Tachyon, Gravitas... all have black hair.

And this NullSpace idea ... Do we need another Teleporter, really?

If it is alright with everyone I would like to pause until Nit can at least reach the keyboard and read coherently. This is a messageboard game after all it'll keep. Tev I hope Nit gets well soon and he doesn't drive you to crazy while he's sick.

I can get up, read coherently, and type out posts. However, there will be delays between them.

Medicated as I am, I dislike the new character. It's another teleporter/warper. We've got those covered then some.
