Just to be clear, rune bullets are pretty easy to cast and fairly cheap (compared to what a bullet and powder already cost). Cranking out a few in a couple of hours is quite doable. Of course they're just ordinary bullets, except for the few moments after a spell or magical energy is channeled into them (No, you can't charge them up and horde them).

While we're on the subject, I had my character cast Arcane Bullet, and he's used two of the three bullets he's enchanted because of it. What happens to a bullet so enchanted if it's not used within the time limit?

Spell wears off. The spell, by the way, isn't such a hot choice for a gunmage who can just directly transfer magical energy to a rune bullet. Better for gun wielding wizards and arcane mechaniks.

Rune bullets have a lot more punch as well. Even transfering a measley cantrip slot makes the bullet +1 to hit, +d3 force damage, and isn't an action.

Thank you for the pointer - I just read up on them again, and yeah, you're right - I pretty much wasted a spell slot with Arcane Bullet.

Ah well, now at least I know just how nasty a rune bullet can be, especially since powering one doesn't take an action. It will, however, require an hour or three to rune up all my bullets, though.

I'd have a few more Rune bullets made, but it seems a good idea to hunt the Lich while he's weak, which means set out now while the trail's hot.

Edited character as of 12/26. Replaced 1st level spell list entry Arcane Bullet with Magic Missile.

Well, we have to sit down and make camp sometime. We gunmages could simply do it then - the book says that 5 can be made in an hour, and that will do nicely if more time can't be spent.

Nothing prevents you from having a bunch already. It's pretty much what gunmages do.
