Just as a minor note to everyone. According to Havoc there are at most 3 D'deridex left in the entire galaxy. That you are actually seeing one at all would be a huge surprise.

That is a very good point. I will have to change her age to fit my thoughts of her being in her early 20s

It's fine, DS. I just didn't want people to get over-focused on any one set of numbers, be they DITL's or anyone else's.
Gaze upon my works, ye mighty, and despair...

They've also mentioned all sorts of different yields, including the always hilarious "isotons", which would give their ships less firepower than an F-106.Cynical Cat wrote:The problem with this is that figure comes from a noncanon source, albeit a respectable noncanon source (got to love the mess that is Trek's noncanon sources). Yeah, I calced it for 3kg of annihilated mass and miswrote it as 3kg of anti-matter. Though TNG Technical Manual is unclear on whether the warhead carries 3 kgs of annihilation mass, or reacts 3kgs of annihilation mass. Not that it matters either way for the purposes of this game. And it was, to nitpick, 1.5 kg of antimatter with 1.5kg of matter for 3kg of mass total. The reaction is, of course, somewhat inefficient and total conversion doesn't occur, but lets not beat that dog to death.

Uh, that would be a tad weird considering this. If there are at most 3 D'Deridex class Warbirds still left, and only 2 Valdores (I have one, a Reman apparently has another) then that would mean that the 25 or so Romulan ships near Bajor are science ships which is ridiculous. My information indicated that there were around 50 Romulan Warships still around (this is info from Gen Havoc at one point). 25 of those or so are near or on Bajor while the rest are up and about. It should be noted that the IRW Terix from my intro post is a D'Deridex class ship.Charon wrote:Just as a minor note to everyone. Besides, at this point, eleven highly improbable things have occurred in a very short period of time. By the time the twelfth has run around, it may not get the appropriate shock that it could.
Or, as was so aptly stated by Rheonix's crew: "Fucking figures, crazy shit always happens when a Kirk's around. Better get ready for the worst of it."

So as I finishing up my character's backstory I wrote the following line, "Blackheart Ravager was struggling to contain critical damage to its warp nacelles". Would weak warp nacelles constitute an acceptable vulnerability? I don't mean weak in power output, I mean if a hit lands on them they are very likely to explode catastrophically.
I also have a couple of other ideas:
Malfunctioning AMD Fire Control - The batteries will engage all missiles and fighters inside their envelope. It is thus impossible to fire missiles while AMD is active.
Weakened Dorsal Shields
No Tractor Beams
Are any one of these good? Any two?

Riker doesn't reach any definition of "late 30s" until TNG Season 6.I wrote:The oldest character I've seen in Star Trek who was depicted as youthful in attitude and demeanor was William Riker at 29 years of age.

Riker was born in 2335. He was made first officer of the Enterprise-D in 2364. This makes him 29 or so when TNG starts. By the time he was being offered his own commands (most notably after Wolf 359), he was in his admittedly early 30's.
He didn't ever accept a new command until 2379, making him 44 when he first took the position of Captain, though he had served as acting captain a handful of times.
And Will Riker was an extremely confident man who knew his own skills and abilities, and he didn't have the name of Starfleet's most illustrious captain to live up to.
Edit:
It should be noted, by the way, that most of the Bridge Crew of the Enterprise was in their 30's for the bulk of TNG. Geordi is the same age as Riker, Deanna is a year younger, Natasha Yar two years younger, Beverly Crusher was eleven years older, Worf is actually one of the youngest, being born in 2340 (Yar is his Elder), Ro Laren is the same age as Worf. And then you have Barclay.
So, yeah.

I actually don't remember WHAT I said concerning the D'Deridex class. It was always much more numerous than the Valdore, but also somewhat slower. Probably there are no more than two or three remaining at Bajor. There are other classes of Romulan ship around, after all, lighter ships than the Warbird, that survived in commensurate numbers.

I had an alternate character idea. Let me know what you think.
Ship: Enterprise-D, Galaxy X class Super Battleship
Captain: Young James Tiberius Kirk, wearing old style uniform with ripped gold shirt.
Armament
20 Class XV Phasers
Class XVII Spinal Mounted Phaser Cannon: can shoot through a battleship's shields and go out the other side of the battleship.
12 Transphasic Torpedo Launchers with 500 torpedoes, each capable of one shoting a Borg Cube.
100 Trilithium Sun Destroyers for when shit gets real.
Weaknesses
Alcohol fueled Character Shields: If Scotty doesn't get a regular dosage of high quality spirits the normally pure Fuckoffium Character Shields are degraded to being merely Impervium.
Toupees: There are several expensive but not convincing toupees in the captain's quarters. Should they be placed on Kirk's head, he suffers a ten percent decrease in awesome and forfeits the benefits granted by the Razor (see below).
Dramatic Pauses: Kirk may take a momentary dramatic pause when issuing orders or making speeches. This slightly slows the command crew of the Enterprise.
Special Abilities
Ripped Shirt: While Kirk wears the ripped shirt, all of his and the Enterprise's attacks inflict double damage and the double handed overhead Kirk-fu chop instantly knocks out all opponents who are not Gorn.
Scalp Razor of the Sisko: Retrieved by Spock from Deep Space Nine, a mind meld convinced Kirk he should stop wearing toupees and pick up the clean head look. As a result, Kirk now directly channels pure awesome from Sisko and Picard, including the ability to summon the Prophets.
Teach Me This Thing Earthmen Call Love: No woman can resist Kirk, including godlike beings taking the form of women. All Prophets that take female form in his presence cannot resist his requests and will always appear female in subsequent visits.
In addition, the Enterprise E maintains a harem of from three to seven female Q who will do anything Kirk wants. Especially if it's impossible.
Bullshitium Field Generator: Spock generates a bullshitium field which enables him to devise means of overcoming all problems with currently available resources in forty minutes or less.
Service History: The Borg attacked and Spock said "This bullshit will not stand." A few quick trips into the Guardian of Forever and Kirk was rescued, incidentally destroying Star Trek: Generations and increasing Kirk's and Spock's awesome by ten percent. A few more trips and the whole crew was together. They go to the alternate future of "All Good Things" and grab the triple nacelle Enterprise and hit the Briar Patch. A bath in the metaphasic radiation restores them close to their physical primes and allows them to increase the entire crew's awesome by another ten percent by preventing Star Trek: Insurrection from being made.
Now they're coming for the Borg and this shit is going to get real.
Crew
The original crew, plus the hot Kirstie Alley Saavik from Wrath of Khan. Everyone but Kirk is wearing the cool WOK uniforms.

I find nothing wrong with this character whatsoever, and offer my endorsement of its potential.
Well, you could give him the Sword of Kahless for an additional +10 Awesome, but that might be overdoing things a bit.

Question. How easy is it to change a ship's registry? Because if it's fairly difficult/impossible to do scanners would still identify my ship as the IRW Gannius.

you'd have to mess with the Transponder...not sure how hardwired they are.
I'm pretty sure you could do it over time....

Consider in canon the Orion ship that gave off no transponder code (Journey to Babel), and in the 4th movie the stolen Klingon ship was renamed for the trip back to Earth. Thus, I believe with the proper codes/skills, a transponder can be changed as needed.

Sorry for my lack of postage lately. I had to do a lot of shopping yesterday getting a new bed set up (Queen size woo!) and the girlfriend is over so, it was a carefully orchestrated balancing act.

Alright gentlemen and ladies. Here's the deal, a number of you want me to lead so that means you should listen.
Urgent resupply means if you don't get it you'll be starving in the next 72 hours earth time. Critical means you need it or you won't make it to Bajor.
We should expect the colony to be able to supply at best replicator mass, low grade electronics(if Havoc is feeling merciful), water or fresh food stuffs. Replicator mass is more important then fresh food. Water should be taken on to cover various engineering or medical needs as opposed for hygiene or mass consummation. Your characters are all supposely at least partly trained so my advice is to make your answers straightforward and to the point.
