Scrutiny being a basic skill that I am not trained in, I use half my stat (Per) which is 20. +10 modifier makes the threshold 30.

Hotfoot is the captain but the rest of you are the senior officers. You can take actions of your own initiative. That includes discussing issues with your fellows if you're not sure what to do.

The hull has hexagrammic wards on it. That reinforces the gellar field and makes it harder for warp entities to manifest on the ship.

I just used 'wards' as a non-technical catch-all term. I know, I know, horribly out of character for any sort of tech-priest.

On that note, when I say examine the body, I mean a good, old fashioned Medicae check. Oh, and Cyncat, as a matter of note, would a ship like this have a centralized computer core?

Yes, although there are likely several auxiliary computer systems as well.

I'm guessing that making a guess as to where the navigator's station is doesn't require approval, but I hope it gets something moving again.
