Wikileaks link to the document in question

I'm currently at work and the dissertation is only in .PDF format; when I get home, I will take some screenshots of the best excerpts, the "USDA choice cuts" of this behemoth of fail.

Let's just say that this is probably the best debunking of evolution I've ever read.

(Both 'best' and 'debunking' are meant ironically)

So.. how accredited is Patriot Bible University?
NOT AT ALL

"Diploma Mill" is one of the nicer things said about it. But the most telling part?
Wiki wrote: "Patriot is not accredited by any recognized accreditation body. As such, its degrees may not be acceptable to employers or other institutions, and use of degree titles may be restricted or illegal in some jurisdictions."

It's accredited with the National Association of Trailer-Home Builders. Rated B+ for electrical wiring!

Consider that the paper even has typos. He spelled Voltaire "Voltair." My guess is that if this were submitted at an accredited graduate school, it would result in excommunication as well as 100 lashes at the mast.

I mean, it's just so hilariously bad - It reads like a "compare and contrast" paper written by a 5th grade student, with the rhetorical edge of an incoherently angry letter-to-the-editor.

Edit: Here's a nice appetizer:

"...Another man that is very important as we trace the history of evolution is Erasmus Darwin, the grandfather of Charles Darwin. He was born in 1731 and died in 1802. He was an extremely fat person. In fact, they had to cut a curve in the dining-room table so he could get up to the table. He was a medical doctor. He was also very immoral..."

:???: Honestly, is Hovind of sound mind? I always thought he was just a mediocre con artist. But that quote is just too ridiculous.

Even if we ignore the fact that no creationist is sane by definition... no. He is batshit crazy. Now he is in prison for tax evasion and I am both happy and sad to report that his hatred for homosexuality is probably now something a tad more visceral

Oh, this is just fucking RICH.

I've written bigger and better essays in High School. This guy writes like he's 13.

Dr. Dino's thesis is a middle school essay on steroids (and crack).

Have a very nice day.

"Evolution is bullshit because Erasmus Darwin was fat."

I wish more of the academic papers I had to read devolved into name-calling like that.

Not to mention the fact that the Black Death alone counts for about 2/3 of the "missing" population of the 14th Century.

I also found the most *hilarious* shredding of Kent Hovind's thesis, I mean this guy is obviously an atheist but I still found him absolutely hilarious! He goes through the entire thesis and just really, really hammers it home.

Dissassembly of a Dissertation - Episode 1

Part 2 is in video responses so you can find your way through the presentation easily enough. I strongly recommend this. Go listen right away!

As a person who graduated with an English Degree, please allow me to speak for all English Speaking people when I say...

OW!

No really, it wasn't the inanity of the statements or the ridiculousness of the arguments that hurt. It was the extremely poor paragraph construction and godawful sentence structure. Seriously, I was writing better in the fifth grade.

EDIT: On further note...

YOU DO NOT USE "I" IN ANY PAPER! ANY! LET ALONE A DISSERTATION!
