#1 AMD Has Done Something Odd

No link yet, because no news source I could find has a single word on it, but apparently AMD has instructed major distributors to delist their desktop processors as of the last couple hours, tops. D&H and Tech Data no longer have Athlon or Phenom SKUs available, only Opteron parts. Distributor reps are just as puzzled as I am. Aside from the upcoming Llano APU just getting its closed-door demos, I haven't found any signs of new AMD processors, which makes this...doubly puzzling, as that's just more Fusion 'let's own the low end' stuff.

Has anyone else run across this, perhaps with some more information as to why?

No idea, and I didnt' see anything about it on my tech blogs. Fusion was the next big thing out of AMD, aside from Cougar Point, that I'm aware of. I've not really followed them, and I prefer Intel for my builds, but to pull all of their desktop chips with no warning? Weird. They seem to be up on Newegg still...

So far, it seems only the major distributors have noticed whatever's going on. It's not just an out-of-stock thing either, the parts are totally de-listed.

Serious case of the wierds, I'll be doing more digging tomorrow at work, see if I can come up with anything.
