Web: Opera and Avant.
Mail:Eudora
Chat: Trillian and MSN.
Security: Zone Alarm and AVG
Misc: WMP, BSplayer, Task Maneger.

Mail: mail (the linux builtin command) and firefox
Chat: gaim and sometimes naim
Security: Linux
Misc: timidity (plays MIDI files) and play (plays various sound files), Konsole, gedit, vi, and gcc
