Yes, you read that right. A carputer. A computer that is hardwired into the car.
This project has been one I've been wanting to do for awhile, but have sadly never had the time, money or motivation to do. But, not I have all 3! Great isn't it?
Pics to follow shortly.

The Pics! These are taken inside my house. I haven't wired the system into my explorer yet so it's still sitting inside my house. I'm going to fiberglass the monitor into my dash and build a custom housing for the computer and everything else below my dash. The entire installation will be photographed as well.
Specs of the beast:
EPIA mini-ITX case
VIA C3 1ghz integrated Ml800 mobo
WD 160gig 7200RPM HD
1gig pc2700 DDRAM
Belkin wireless G card
Panasonic uj815b dvd/cd-r/rw
running windows XP pro sp2 OS and frodoplayer for my car interface
the monitor is an 8" TM-868 touchscreen
the mouse is a usb fingermouse w/ 3button & trackball
the keyboard is a rubber nearly indestructable keyboard so I can roll it, toss it, fold it, etc and it wont get damaged.
I'll upload pics of it running later.

I hope you've used that flexible keyboard before. I have; they're rather... difficult. Otherwise the rest of it looks excellent. Good luck! :)

It's fine once you get used to it, but I had spelling errors galore when I tried to type with it the first time. Plus the backspace is too small...
But yeah, you should be fine.

Looks like a real fun project. Best of luck with it.
