Aaaaand there went Martin, in a valiant attempt to capture me a floater.

Allen is still killing everything in sight and is my kill leader by a fair margin. CAPTAIN Magi is the guy who anchors everything with his big-ass gun, Scottie excels in killing the shit that Allen occasionally misses, and Rhoenix had the biggest badass moment. Dropping from poison, he still pops up and bangs out the last Thin Man, thus allowing him to survive to fight another day. However, he must just overthink his easy shots, because pretty much any ninety-percenter is guaranteed to miss wide.

Cyncat, however, goes down as the most savage and clever. He was the assigned capture rookie for a mission, scores two kills and brings me in a specimen, then promptly puts in for sniper. This of course assures him of never getting stuck on capture duty ever again.

In other news, Scottie and Allen are stone-cold fucking killers, though Allen has a tendency to go in for paid days off with flesh wounds.

This shouldn't surprise you. In the fact we will kill alien sumbitches like no one's business....or that I'd take the paid holidays as offered as due recompense for my killing-tude

I swear, I take down the alien base, and before the prisoner is talking(Which is impressive, given my.. CONNECTIONS..), terror missions all over my continent. Always with plenty of Chryssalids in buildings.

Sectopods are my personal vendetta.

In part because they killed Ben and my co-writer Kris all on the same mission. Ben was my top-flight sniper and I had high, high hopes for his success at psyker school, which he was due to rotate into immediately after that mission.

Also, next game my A-Team got hammered pretty hard (three gravely wounded, one regularly wounded) so I had to send the all-rookie squad in to clean up a light scout. Figured hey, light scout, the rooks should be able to handle this!

Clean fucking wipeout. Talk about a brutal ambush, my first stringers probably would've taken a decent beating on it. Still and all, I was down to the last guy (one HP) vs. the shard controller critter thingy (1 hp) and they're hiding behind rocks sniping at each other. If he could've pulled off one lousy 45% shot in three opportunities, we still would've won.

Later on the first stringers got clean-wiped and... well, that was game.

The Battleship Seven, all veterans of Operation: Shattered God, are in psi-school, while my second stringers are trying to hold off whats going on out there. Steele and B4 got clipped by a Sectopod, are gonna be out of it for a week.

Cyncat is out of the tank and our new, next-generation soldier. His psi-power will prove useful.

In D.C., he leveraged his Mindfray power to save the day against a horde of Chryssalids spawned from hosts. He is well on his way to being an offensive-powerhouse, given he already rocks the house with the Blaster Launcher.

So - new expansion upcoming, called Enemy Within. It not only shows off some new enemy units, but two new options for your soldiers aside from Psi training: biological, or robotic.

I'm honestly kind of meh about that. Yes, we get cybernetics and bio-augmentation which is cool. We get new maps, again cool. However it doesn't seem to do anything to expand the story. Which is a bit of a disappointment and makes this less of an expansion to me and more of a larger scale DLC.

Maybe, and I have no evidence to back this up... but I somehow doubt they'd release DLC with new units and options and such, give it a name like "Enemy Within," and not release extra story content to go along with it.

I mean, come on man, that name alone screams "twist on storyline because messing with alien tech for survival has consequences lol" to me.

I'm loving it. It verges on the old-style Expansion Packs; new class of soldier, new methods of enhancement, new missions, new enemy, new types of mission, tons of new maps, new items..

Basically everything you loved, plus more. The biggest downside is the new narrative bits are lacking in the endgame.
