I would say from the comments in that article, they've given up on peace because they feel the other side will never accept any deal. Why should the average person here dream of a peace agreement? From the point of view of an Israeli, it has been one betrayal after the other. Oslo, the Intifada, th...

That may be, but the less ability they have to misuse such power the better, and control of the internet is a rather different from control of physical communications or radio. The Internet != the internet lines, fibers, etc. But I repeat myself. The internet, in the end, is nothing more than backh...

Again, we're not talking about an internet kill switch. We're talking about the ability of the government to modify infrastructure rapidly. For example, shutting down specific transatlantic links. Or filtering away entire IP ranges (for pure internet stuff). Think. That's not what I gather from the...

Of course cyber attacks are a real threat to a modern economy. But given a major attack where large sections of the internet are at risk of being shut down, I'm not sure what an "internet kill switch" would do to make things better. It looks sort of like setting your own house on fire to chase out ...

Lets go and do an interesting thought experiment. Labelled "what led to this law". Cyber 9/11? What does this even mean? It doesn't make any sense. Sure it does. It means an event upon the communications landscape in the U.S. that is just as meaningful. Now what does that mean? Lets lay out the syst...

The current Israeli line is rather obvious, Israel blocked the ships attempt to reach Gaza, which is under a military blockade. 5 out of six ships headed for Gaza were peacefully stopped. The sixth was armed and resisted the Israeli forces. Their idea of resisting included assaulting, stabbing multi...

The West can't really do shit, except convince Iran to do a South Africa and willfully stop working on nuclear weapons. What do you really expect to happen?

Bar an Israeli strike, which would be a fuckup of global proportions.

Jordan isn't a very realistic option. I mean, you can hardly expect them to welcome back the very same people who tried to overthrow the legitimate government there can you? Frankly I wonder if this was a test by the Netanyahu government to see how far they could push us - the announcement of furthe...

Give the people of Palestine water, electricity, hell even food if they need it. With the understanding that if they decide to send rockets into Israel again that water and power and food are going to stop coming in. What the heck do you think happens? Gaza lives (or more properly, lived) on the ba...

Obama dresses down Netanyahu

The Times UK [quote] Binyamin Netanyahu humiliated after Barack Obama 'dumped him for dinner' For a head of government to visit the White House and not pose for photographers is rare. For a key ally to be left to his own devices while the President withdraws to have dinner in private was, until thi...

So I changed a digit

I'm now officially 20 (or have been for 2 weeks, depends on your calendar). Despite this sad fact, I will not be having any sort of party, or anyone to mention it. Except the 15 smses I seem to have received all telling me I need to bring cake.

Osmos game review

A quick review of a game by Hemisphere games named Osmos . This game is up for $2 on Steam for the weekend and I decided to just buy it. A trailer is here though I didn't bother to check it first, there is a demo as well. The gameplay mechanics are pretty simple, you're a floating blob of matter, a ...

Pretty much the wrong forum for this type of question, you'd be better served at Beyond3d Forums. They include a large group of professional graphics programmers, along with some developers from AMD and nVidia. As far as my understanding of the APIs goes, DX10 goes a long way to clearing up the syst...
