Re: His Majesty's Dragons: World at War
Until Captain Cannon and his dragon had landed, Marcus had been waiting with baited breath... but the relief he and Alacritas both felt when the Norwegian mid weight made their approach was palpable. Without needing to be urged, alacritas altered his circle and got the bloody hell out of the way so ...

Re: His Majesty's Dragons: World at War
"Over there!" Alacritas banked slightly towards the fallen dragon as he brought Marcus' attention to the right spot. Marcus took only a moment to take in the carnage before reaching for his radio. "This is Captain Wainwright, we've found Captain Eisehauer's unknown lightweight approximately two and ...

Re: His Majesty's Dragons: World at War
The news of a second dragon being hunted by axis made marcus shudder a bit. Being the prey in a hunt was almost enough to put him off eating meat for a while... almost. It was also something he wouldn't wish on any but the most repugnant of people. "Alright mate, it looks like those jerries were cha...

Re: His Majesty's Dragons: World at War
Fights never went the way they were described in training... and just this once, Marcus and Alacritas were grateful for it. No way in hell were they ready to fight that red devil... but that didn't mean there was nothing they could do, now that the fight was over. "Just a bit more, lad... we've got ...

Re: His Majesty's Dragons: World at War
Alacritas was tired... marcus a bit less so. But after seeing that red hide and listening to the crazy American dragon bellow a holy challenge to the most infamous dragon of the European theatre, much emphasis was placed on the past tense. Knowing that the two combat lightweights providing his slips...

Re: His Majesty's Dragons: World at War
Marcus let out a sigh, inaudible compared to the rushing wind. "Guess it's not time to rest just yet." Alacritas snorted and banked, gliding into formation with the two Americans. "At least I'll have something to look at besides endless water." He flexed his muscles where he'd gotten spiked. They hu...

Re: His Majesty's Dragons: World at War
At this rate, I'm wondering which is gonna kill alacritas first. Falling asleep in the air (resulting in falling into the spanish countryside from a thousand feet up) or getting ripped apart by german dragons.

Re: His Majesty's Dragons: World at War
Marcus and Alacritas didn't need to be told twice. "Aye, and thanks for the assist." The dragon resumed his course to the coast of spain. Marcus knew... KNEW mind you, that his new squadron wouldn't let him forget his stupid maneuver... but that couldn't be helped. He hoped that he and alacritas be ...

Re: His Majesty's Dragons: World at War
Watching the sky suddenly empty itself of most of the enemy combatants triggered a small sense of relief in both Alacritas and Marcus. Small, because there was still a psychotic Sicilian within visual range. Just because it wasn't aiming at them now didn't mean it wouldn't remember who it had origin...

Re: His Majesty's Dragons: World at War
sorry it's been a while since posting. Been crazy busy (attending weddings and birthday festivities, starting a business, and other such fun stuff). Although I'm not sure how much more an exhausted winchester can contribute to this particular combat (although it's not like Alacritas has contributed ...

Re: His Majesty's Dragons: World at War
Remember the original question was regarding hitting the wing with gunfire... unless we gain the ability to stop time, I doubt I'll ever make a shot at something as precise as a specific bone in a rapidly moving object, regardless of angle, while in aerial combat.

is that assuming body shots? I'm kinda assuming the wingsail is significantly thinner/more fragile. (Sorry about the tangent)Cynical Cat wrote:Even a lightweight takes multiple hits from 20mm shells to go down

Re: His Majesty's Dragons: World at War
The other Razorback was having a better time of things. What had possessed a Winchester scout dragon to hurl itself at the Razorback and attempt something like this was unclear to anyone, least of all the Razorback, but for all Alacritas' efforts, he was attempting to roll and hurl through the air ...

Re: His Majesty's Dragons: World at War
I'd already considered having Captain Wainwright requisition a pair of wingblades after the fight. Either they were never equipped to facilitate a light load / faster transit from malta to Gibraltar, or were ditched sometime during pursuit to lighten the load and facilitate escape. I'll try to figur...

Re: His Majesty's Dragons: World at War
There's ways for a courierweight to deal with something larger than it, but I'm afraid the tail-hammer-throw is not one of them. I'd love to hear them. Truly. Machinegun fire seems to be nigh useless unless it's an LMG mounted on a heavyweight (and not even that will dissuade most dragons it seems)...

Re: His Majesty's Dragons: World at War
I read that and All I could think of was a freeze frame of the nemesis and the xolotl with blue text menus at the bottom of the screen... an arrow moving between words and bringing up additional menus for the nemesis until the words "Limit Break" were shown... and subsequently selected. Yeah, I've b...

Re: His Majesty's Dragons: World at War
Hey Havoc, I get the winchester not being heavy enough to pull a razorback into a spiral, but whatever happened to the 180 degree roll that was supposed to break/sprain its tail that happened BEFORE the pull-down? The concept I was going for was something along these lines. Imagine you're a 150 lb p...
