Sorry that I've been completely inactive, but the powers that be decided that it was a great idea to actually start doing something about my application to the RN just before Christmas (as opposed to three months ago), so I've had more important things to worry about. I was intending to get more inv...

That's fair enough (also, I approve), and actually doesn't affect anything. The problem would have been if monowings hadn't been thought up yet. To the Beiyang Aircraft Company's Beijing factory, and an overenthusiastic engineer!

I'd volunteer, but I couldn't resist the temptation to turn my neighbors into juicy, industry and population filled sweeties. Which is why I'm not allowed, I guess. On an actual point that might be useful for a post, I take it aircraft technology is vaguely interwar at this point? That is, lot...

Having a bit of difficulty thinking up a a first post, so I've taken the easy route and written a 'response' to Frigid's letter. Next time, I'll do something more original.

A diplomatic letter: To the Warlord styling himself the Great Heavenly King of Peace. Salutations. As has been so for the five years since his ascension, His Imperial Majesty desires your attention. He urges and commands that you abandon the rebellion rasied in the time of his father's father and su...

The IC thread is up already. Perfectly timed to catch me at a point where I've not got a decent idea for a first post, naturally. I'll do one tomorrow, and finish off my deployments when I've not just come back from the third Christmas party in three days and am a bit more coherent.

Also Screw can you please list how many regiments are attached to your divisions?
I have already, but I can change the formatting if it's not completely clear.

EDIT: Done.

Well, what's the point of having them, then? Are they just supposed to be there as punching bags for the PCs that otherwise sit completely inactive? If the answer is 'no' then they're logically going to ally themselves with somebody, since that's the logical thing to do if you find somebody you have...

Japan's player left. No Monocora. So, an alliance with an NPC Japan. Anyway, Hadri, I'd take a look at what you can get out of a 355 point navy, and if its worth the points diversion. I've decided having active-duty BBs and cruisers isn't. They'd be nice, but I'm clearly poorly placed to be a naval...

I ask honestly and earnestly, because I wanted armoured battlewagons with very large guns. Unfortunately for me, the strategic situation keeps making the case that, for Russia, naval supremacy matters about as much as the day's weather in Tierra del Fuego. So yeah, would be nice to hear a good reas...

Um, I've just sat down to do my numbers, and found that the 'Industry' section appears t have vanished, and been absorbed into the 'Economy' section. Is that a mistake as a result of an edit, or intentional?

Moreover we're jumping the gun that the ONLY way to get tanks or artillery is through brigade options. So far the only person suggesting that is Hadri, and while I'm going to poach the AT/AA options, I think it's safe to assume that we can buy tanks and artillery separate from infantry divisions. I...

Okay, I'll have a go. I'm not real awesome at balancing this sort of thing, so I suspect the numbers will change, but: Reserves (Population + SML) <2: None 3: 175 4: 350 5: 525 6: 700 7: 875 8: 1050 9: 1225 10: 1400 I'm using the same increments as SML, because that's easy. It breaks a bit at the ve...

We need a system for reserves, I favor strongly having a separate point pool tied to SML or Pop. Taking into account the earlier statements about infrastructure also having an effect, how about something like this: Pop + SML combined gives you a points pool. I'll assume that three in each is the av...

Well Hadri the question isn't can a truck carry a rifle section, the question is was anyone deploying trucks to do so at the time? I can't find data either way (earliest date I can find is 1940 and I know there were motorized troops before that) so I'll error on the side of giving players the optio...

I think Boxer Rebellion is too late. Realistically the Qing would collapse upon their failure to put down the Taipings. Granted the Taipings succeeding is not exactly realistic, but the more important part is that we want to give both sides enough to time to actually industrialize. The Boxer Rebell...

I was indeed planning to appropriate some Boxer-like aspects. Anti-Christianity for a start, especially considering the existence of a (presumably Christian?) Taiping state, and an opposition to Western political and social influence, if not necessarily their methods. I'm not sure if the Boxers subs...

Screwball the Qing Empire of China (or the Chinese Republic, not sure which) I'm actually considering taking a third path, as it were. That is, the Taiping Rebellion leads to Qing disintegrating, but rather than a republic, the warlord that finds himself on the top of the pile declares himself the ...

Army AND Air Focus of Five? I think this should indicate to what extent colonies need to be reworked. Taking colonies seems to more or less guarantee that you cannot compete with countries that do not. Well, I can change it if you need me to. Not really China without a big army focus, though, and I...

I believe it works as such: all four scores (pop, territory, infra, and econ) must reach a certain combined total for that industry level, additionally certain scores must be at a minimal level as well. (Like all four add up to 12 for something, but Pop and Econ must be 2 apiece to meet all prerequ...

Quick question; under the 'Industry' category, where it says 'must have X in the above fields,' is that just in population, territory and colonies, or does it also include economy and infrastructure? I presume it's the latter, since some of the levels reference minimum infrastructure requirements, b...
