I actually bought three pies today. No joke. It was entirely coincidental, too. Boss's daughter is doing a school fundraiser.

My mom wants HR people to be the second against the wall when the revolution comes (second, because people only remember the first ones). She told me she would disown me if I studied human resource management (of course, I had no interest in that, but still). There are many good reasons why she has ...

The thing is, it's never when I'm intentionally trying to do it. I've tested it multiple times, trying to guess the exact amount to pull, and I'm always wrong. Usually I'm off by a significant degree. If I'm not paying any attention, though, I'll sometimes do this. It's always by accident.

Attempted Assassination in Arizona

This was the first link. I'll say more at the end. [quote]U.S. Congresswoman Giffords Shot in Arizona; Six Die January 08, 2011, 4:52 PM EST By Dan Hart, Tim Homan and Drew Armstrong Jan. 8 (Bloomberg) -- U.S. Representative Gabrielle Giffords, an Arizona Democrat, was one of 18 people shot today i...

Does this happen to anyone else? There are times when I need to stuff a bunch of envelopes, or put rubber bands on a bunch of things, you know the type of work. For those things I just grab a handful of paper clips or wad of plastic baggies or stack of fliers or whatever it is that's needed. And ver...

I thought I'd already commented on this. Oh well. I seriously doubt this venture will turn a profit. It'll likely be a giant money drain and will eventually go under, just as so many pioneers do. There will be lots of problems and possibly a few deaths. And I also think it likely that the people in ...

So in a state of rage I crunched some numbers. In typical elections that don't have polluted Focus on the Family money thrown into it, up to 1/3 (but usually not that many) of the voters regularly voted no to retaining the judges. Always. All the judges. The same happened with most of the other judg...

Fuck Iowa.

I'm too tired from being continually pissed off to rant again.

Fuck Iowa for ousting the supreme court justices. I'll explain to everyone who doesn't know later when I'm not-tired enough again to cry.

I should have listened to the warnings! Unlike most people apparently, I haven't gotten into any mega-structure building. The closest thing to that I have is one very deep-shaft mine that hit the bedrock and my current project to strip-mine one island that's basically hollow (not that hard - just ta...

Thank you. May the rice cooker provide you many easy, quick, and hot meals. I also should note that you can usually get rice in bulk rather cheaply so it may save money in the long run if you use it enough. While I'm here, I calculated that I eat at least forty pounds of rice a year. That's dry weig...

I own a The Pot. It only has those two settings. It is at least as old and possibly older than me, as I inherited from my mother when she got a new one for herself and we'd always had it. It has produced untold amounts of rice, and rice goes with everything and can be used to stretch out everything,...

Umm, where does it say that she was sleeping with someone else's wife? Is it in some other article? It looks like she just had a relationship with some civilian, and I didn't think the military banned personnel from having girlfriends/boyfriends instead of being married.

Is this for a party? Are you a reasonably good actor or can stay in character for something? My first thought was a crazy street preacher. Wear a sandwich board with too many capital letters and at least one noticeable spelling error, and interrupt the party at good moments with announcements/rants/...

Terror birds punched prey with their beaks!

Well...maybe the title isn't the most accurate or correct way of describing it, but I thought it sounded snappy. Ancient 'Terror Bird' Used Powerful Beak to Jab Like an Agile Boxer ScienceDaily (Aug. 19, 2010) — The ancient "terror bird" Andalgalornis couldn't fly, but it used its unusually large,...

I would just like to say that if Amy Chan had been there instead of Yancy, she wouldn't have gotten her ass kicked so badly. Also she would've been loudly wondering why there were so damn many robots and why they were built so stinking tough. Because I was wondering that myself.

Do economists have falsifiability as part of their theories? Do they ever discuss that or even know what that means? Because if they don't have that, it's not a science.
