Re: Frigid reads: book review thread
So this is what Imperial China flavor 40K looks like. Sounds cool.

Re: Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay 4th Edition Review
Well, this review has me interested. I do hope they plan further regional books (I'll be honest trying an all elf party in Ulthuan is an unlikely dream of mine but there you go...) but this seems like a really good core book to work out of. Also really glad to hear the Fimir are back. Totally doabl...

Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay 4th Edition Review
A fourth edition of the venerable Warhammer Fantasy Role-Playing Game has been released upon the world. The original is known for having great ideas and atmosphere for a grim and dirty fantasy game, but not so good game mechanics. Second edition updated the game for the changes in the world, tried t...

Re: RPG Review: Vampire the Masquerade 5th Edition
It sounds kinda rough honestly, playable but rough. It's funny, because its actually a refinement on the already modified engine behind Vampire: The Requiem. They just decided there were going to be no black leather trench coat wearing, katana wielding badasses; come hell or high water, in this game.

RPG Review: Vampire the Masquerade 5th Edition
So the big bad 5th Edition of Vampire the Masquerade has arrived. As a hardcore Masquerade fanboy and an rpg rules snob (yes, I know Vampire's mechanics have a history of being far from perfect) it is now my task to consume, digest, and review it. Here it is. Presentation and Look: Good. It has glos...

California will be totally willing to build nuke plants in order to preserve their living standard . . . as long as they are in the eastern half o the state and not in LA or San Francisco's back yard.

Re: Star Trek: The Quadratic War, Volume II
One of the seeming contradictions exhibited by the Klingons is the supposed dissonance between their warrior code and the cloaking device. In many ways it speaks to how far the Federation has come we do not see how those can be compatible. Our ancestors would find it less difficult. The Imperial Ja...

Re: Star Trek: The Quadratic War, Volume II
On the surface, it would seem that Klingons and Bajorans would have a lot in common. Both have experienced brutal alien occupations that they've violently resisted and both try to hold onto their traditional beliefs into the modern era. Unfortunately, this does not hold true. The Klingons have litt...

Re: Star Trek: The Quadratic War
That might be true, but that's Havoc's call, not ours. The Klingon cloak is broken by the Feds, which does give them a good reason to trade for Romulan cloak tech and gives the Feds a good reason to feel confident that the Romulan cloak tech will be rendered relatively useless by the Federations acq...

Re: Star Trek: The Quadratic War, Volume II
Off in the some of the small corners of academia there is heated debate whether or not the Klingons would have achieved warp travel without the Hurq invasion. The argument goes that the Klingons are too warlike and uninterested in science to have created warp technology on their own. No serious sch...

Dark Heresy
So who is up for killing Tau, shooting corrupt politicians, acquiring really fancy gilded gear, and facing unspeakable horrors from beyond the bounds of space and time? Character creation will mostly be as normal for Dark Heresy 2nd edition, but there will be a few differences. 1) +2000xp to spend. ...

Re: Star Trek: The Quadratic War, Volume II
It was once observed by a human diplomat that Klingons do not grieve as humans do. He believed that instead of sharing their grief as humans do, Klingons bare their teeth at all who would approach them and deal with it alone. He further stated that he thought that the energy from this helped drive t...

Re: Star Trek: The Quadratic War
Sure Lys, but you also said this bit: What makes the Federation different is a matter of circumstance more than anything else. The four founding races were roughly equally matched in strength, and faced with the threat posed by the Rihannsu, it made sense for them to form a defensive alliance...
