I use a 21" CRT at home and take a 17" LCD to LAN parties. (I'd use the LCD concurrently at home, but my desk doesn't really allow for that.

Why are you downgrading?

Plextor is a premium brand; they have a very, very good reputation for high quality, but you pay extra for buying a Plextor drive. You could easily assemble a file server with comparable capacity and fault-tolerance (i.e. one of the hard drives dies) for probably at least a thousand dollars less than that LaCie box. One of the drives dies in that LaCie and all two terabytes bites it.

When you're working with uncompressed video, you can easily start running into really huge files.
